He leans to her lips and both of their breaths fanning on each other's lips. Khushi closes her eyes. He moves closer. There's only an inch gap. Arnav, too, closes his eyes and is about to kiss her when someone knocks on the door. Both of them come back to their senses and move apart.
At the door, there is Aman standing and staring at them with his mouth wide open. When both of them move a part, Aman smirks, looking down, Khushi gulps and looks everywhere, except the two humans present, whereas Arnav lets out an irritated sigh.
Aman goes inside, still smirking - Ughhh... Arnie, I think you have a meeting now. If you are busy, I'll postpone it.
Arnav gives a fast glance at Khushi and then looks at Aman with a straight face - no need. I remember the meeting. Did the inspector come?
Khushi looks at Arnav frowning.
Aman - Yep, he's waiting down.
Arnav - Take him to the conference room, I'll be there in 5 minutes.
Aman still smirking - It's okay, yaar, take your time.
Aman goes away smiling, whereas Arnav turns to Khushi.
He goes to her and lifts his right hand up and traces her cheek, with his fingers. Khushi's breath becomes faster.
Arnav - Dekha, ab hasi ruk gayi. (Did you see your smile stopped now)
He moves towards her ear, tucking her hair strand behind her ear gently, which is falling on her ear. She closes her eyes, feeling his touch with her breath becoming even faster. He is sending shivers to her spine with his gentle touch.
He whispers in her ear - I'll be back soon.
Saying he kisses her earlobe, when Khushi suddenly opens her eyes and widens them. She is shocked. Did Arnav just kiss her?
Smirking, he leaves the cabin and goes to the conference room.
He goes down and goes to the conference room, followed by Aman. The inspector stands up, looking at him, Arnav goes to him and shakes hands with him. Arnav sits in the main chair. The inspector sits diagnol to him, and Aman stands beside Arnav.
Arnav looking at Aman - Sit along Aman.
Aman - It's okay ASR.
Arnav sighs and turns his attention to the inspector.
Arnav in a serious tone - So, as I spoke to you yesterday. I want you to complete the thing. He shouldn't be spared.
Inspector - I will take care of it. You don't worry, sir.
Arnav - And the thing I would like to discuss about is...
They talk for a while, and then the inspector leaves. But Aman doesn't understand anything.
Aman - Arnie, what happened? What have you already discussed?
Arnav gritting his teeth - About that Siddharth.
Aman frowns - What about Siddharth?
Arnav narrates everything that had happened to Khushi because of Siddharth.
Aman angrily - How dare he do it to Khushi? And Di? How can she even think of Khushi like that yaar?
Arnav - I can't tell you how angry I was when she accused Khushi in front of me.
Aman - Why do such things only happen to her yaar?
Arnav - No, such things wouldn't happen to her from now on, Aman. I will make sure of it.
Aman smiles, looking at Arnav. After the meeting, Arnav goes back to the cabin but doesn't find Khushi anywhere. He looks out for her. But she doesn't come. Meanwhile, Arnav gets a call, and he attends it. He is busy with the call when Khushi enters inside cabin. As if nothing happened, Khushi silently comes inside, Arnav notices her, she takes out her novel, and starts reading. He cuts the call after a couple of seconds, and gets back to his work. In between, both of them steal glances from each other.
Arnav becomes busy with his work, and at the evening, both of them drive back to Shantivan. None of them speak a word during their journey, after parking the car, Khushi gets down the car and moves ahead, whereas Arnav walks behind her. He goes to her and holds her wrist, Khushi freezes and turns to him, he comes close to her, Khushi gets tensed, he moves so close that there is no space for the air to pass in between, Khushi turns her head to the other side, he bends down, she doesn't understand but keep observing his moves. He bends down and holds her saree pleats together. Then she realizes that there is a fold at the bottom, due to which she could stumble and fall down. He holds all the front pleats together, leveling them as one. He traces the fabric through his fingers downwards, holding it as one and pulls them together down gently.
Khushi is stunned to see this side of Arnav. Is he the same person whom she thought as adamant and rude man? She's still in her thoughts when Arnav stand up and look straight into her eyes. They look at each other, when lifts his hand to her cheek and tucks her hairstrand behind her ear. Khushi lowers her eyes and again looks at him. He then cups her cheek and traces her cheek with his finger.
The next step that he did, Khushi didn't expect him to do. He pulls her close through her waist with his other arm circled, and kisses her cheek. Khushi widens her eyes. He moves his lips a little back from her cheek, and admires the red hue on her cheek. The effect he has on her is something which he enjoys watching at.
Arnav - Let's move forward, Khushi.
Khushi gets back from the shock and starts moving forward. He holds her wrist and pulls her to him.
Arnav - In our life.
Khushi is in shock. Did he really want to take their relationship ahead? Did he just ask for her consent? Khushi doesn't know what to answer. She looks down and fidges with her saree pallu. Arnav senses her nervousness and holds her palm. She looks at him, he gives a gentle smile, and looks at her.
Arnav - I would never do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Even if I do it without any notice, you can tell me. But I'm really looking ahead to what my journey would be with you.
Saying he holds her hand and pulls her with him inside. She is still in shock, he takes her inside Shantivan, Shalini who is sitting on the sofa in the hall, gets up and goes to them.
Shalini goes to Khushi and hugs her - I missed you beta.
Khushi - Even I missed you a lot, ma. Tomorrow onwards I will stay at home itself.
Arnav immediately - No.
Khushi and Shalini look at him.
Arnav to Khushi - What do you think? I didn't ask for your permission and you will come to the office with me. That's final.
He turns to Shalini - And ma, you know the reason why I'm taking her with me. I can not see her in the same situation when she fainted.
Shalini smiles, looking at him. She finally sees that Arnav is having some feelings for her and is really happy for both of them.
Shalini - I said I missed her, but I know you wouldn't want her to stay at home. You always want her around you, isn't it?
Arnav - Ha ma. You know na, she is so careless around me. Imagine what happens if she is alone? Such a kid she is.
Khushi opens her mouth and glares at him - What did you say?
Arnav - Are you deaf?
Khushi - Kya?
Arnav - You are standing beside me and you are not sure about what you heard? We will meet ENT tomorrow, don't worry, I will take an appointment for tomorrow.
Khushi - I can hear very well. How can you say that I'm a kid? You know I'm 23 years old.
Shalini smiles, looking at both of them, Arnav taunting Khushi and she arguing with him. She silently thanks God that everything is coming back to normal.
But no one knows what the future holds for them. It may be good or bad, but everything happens for a reason.
