SIMPLE. Everything had been so simple and fast. Russel had married them in less than ten minutes and her name had been changed legally to Nessa Foster in less than one. She was finally moving forward towards her new life with Lucas. There was something unsettling about "simple" that made Nessa wonder when shit would hit the fan again. Simple was good, but not for women like her. She had never had a simple day in her life and now that her days had become simple she didn't know what to do.

HUSBAND. Lucas was her husband now. She was a wife and that alone was terrifying to her. She didn't have the first clue as to how to be a wife. Did she do things differently or did she do things the way she had been doing them all along...minus the running.

Lucas lay on the bed sleeping the afternoon away. Their love making had taken a turn for the better. They couldn't get enough of each other and Nessa was sure that her reason was due to all the hormones coursing through her body and the fact that she was head over heels in love with him helped. She had never felt so good with a man before. She still had trust issues, but she would work on them.

He stirred in his sleep and reached out for her and sat up in bed when he felt her side empty and cold.

"Sweetheart?" He looked around for her and didn't find her in the room. He left the bed and put on a pair of sweatpants thinking it better than walking around the house naked looking for his wife. His wife. He loved the sound of that. Nessa was finally his wife, and she belonged to him as he belonged to her. It was an overwhelming feeling.

PANIC. Lucas was filled with panic all of a sudden realizing that if he was overwhelmed then Nessa was probably in full out panic mode. She was running. His wife of only a few hours had left the bed and ran and he had been so worn out from their intense love making that he hadn't even felt her leave. Lucas rushed to his office and picked up his cell phone from the desk and touched the icon with Nessa's number and waited for her to pick up. She had refused to let him take her picture in case he lost his phone. She was still paranoid about certain things, and he didn't know if she would ever get over them. The call went to voicemail and Lucas growled. He stormed off to the front of the house and found the SUVs parked where they usually went. Nessa was still home, where was she? Lucas looked all around the house, the living room, the sitting room, the kitchen, the back porch, the sunroom, the pool room, everywhere and there was no sign of Nessa or her guard. He walked to the kitchen and found the cook and her helper, yet no Nessa. He kept going back and through the service hallway until he reached the back of the house where the guards' rooms were located. He was about to knock on Ryder's door and stopped when moaning came through it. Lucas' blood ran cold through his body. He knew that Ryder and Nessa were close, however, he never thought he would have to experience what Nessa had when she had found him in Reagan's apartment. He hadn't slept with Reagan, but Nessa was in there having sex with Ryder as what? Revenge? He took a deep breath not wanting to kill them when he opened the door and found them naked. He reached his hand out with a horrible pain gripping his chest. He turned the knob and pushed the door open and was paralyzed at the scene before his eyes. He had never in a million years expected to see what he was seeing. He couldn't look away he was so stunned.

"Lucas, get out."

Lucas closed the door and walked out of the house as fast as his legs would carry him. His eyes were shocked, his brain couldn't wrap around what he had just seen. He had no idea what was going on in his chest, but he didn't like it. He kept walking stunned until he reached the pool area and found Maggie lounging on a chair fully dressed, with Blake beside her on the other chair.

"Is there something wrong?" Maggie asked him, noticing that he was very pale.

Lucas nodded his head yes and couldn't bring himself to utter a single word. The scene he had just witnessed kept playing over and over in his mind. The water in the pool rippled and Lucas looked straight ahead. He walked quickly to the end of the pool and wrapped his arms around Nessa who had just come out of the water.
