Chapter Name: Good Memories from Bad Past.
Adaliah was so worried when she saw Vincente panicking. She felt like her heart was being ripped out of her chest watching him apologizing for things he couldn't control. It wasn't his fault that he had to go through all that.
Vincente held her tightly to himself when those three words left her mouth. He felt all his dark days from the past just lighten up. Adaliah looked up from his chest to his face then said smiling at him: "Vince, why do you get scared like this?"
Vincente didn't want to lie to her and also didn't wanna tell her about that past which could ruin her childhood. Vincente said in a low gentle tone: "It just reminds me of those bad days"
Adaliah asked carefully with her eyes tearing up but she controlled herself: "They hurt you like they do mummy, naked?"
She stuttered a bit remembering a few times she watched some people hurt her mommy. Vincente gulped as his breathing picked up once again: "Yes"
It was almost a whisper when Vito yelled from the water but got cut off by a loud splash from Klaus who laughed at his: "C'mon guys, come"
Vincente took a glance at them enjoying and laughing but looked at her when Adaliah cupped his face and smiled warmly: "How about you think just good memories from bad times?"
Vincente's brows knitted together as he stared at her mumbling: "Good memories"
Adaliah nods smiling happily: "See me and Mommy stay in the bad station but I have good memories from bad times with Mommy. Mommy cuddling me, singing for me, feeding me, playing tag, teaching me many many many many things"
Vincente thinks about all those things from his past, the only good thing from his bad past was his siblings. He has the best siblings, a happy family, and maybe a little broken but at least they have each other and they are happy in their present.
Vincente unconsciously looked at his sibling's direction and a smile made its way to his lips. He can hear Vito's loud laugh from afar which made him chuckle a bit as he saw Ezra thrown into the deep side of the sea by the other three musketeers.
Ezra called out gasping for air after coming back to the surface: "Vince, chipmunk, come and save me"
Adaliah smiled at Ezra who gave her a wide smile back and Adaliah realized that Vincente was calm down enough to listen to her. She spoke in a calm and gentle tone: "How about you remove just the shirt first?"
Vincente bit his bottom lip and mumbled: "I have scars and they don't look nice"
Adaliah said chuckling: "You no have scars, you have stars, beautiful stars because your skin is like a sky with so many stars which make everyone love them"
Vincente asked frowning: "Where do you learn all these mature talks?"
Adaliah shrugged pulling the strap of her swimsuit to the side from her left hip and showed him a large scar going down to her lower part hidden under the black fabric of the swimsuit. She said smiling: "I so sad when I get this but mommy say that only a beautiful sky have these beautiful stars, be proud of your scars because they show you survive bad times"
Vincente's heart warmed and Adaliah spoke: "I go in the water and wait for you"
Vincente helped her to put her down on her feet as she looked at him and took off to the sea where Ezra was already waiting for her at the shore holding his arms open. She ran in his arms which made him smile and he spun her around two times as they both jumped into the water.
