Two hours ago

(Manolo P.O.V)

I was at the gym getting my pre-morning workout, which is something I do every other day before I go to work.

First, I do my stretches, then my push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, squats, leg presses, and bench presses, and lastly, I hit the treadmill to get a little cardio in.

While I was running on the treadmill, I heard a loud voice, which nearly canceled out the music from my earbuds.

"Aye, man, what's up."

"What's up?" I hear a familiar voice say in response.

David?

I turn the treadmill off, curious to know if that's him.

I then got off and walked towards them to check if it was really him, and to my shock, it was.

David and some tall, light-skinned man were conversing, probably a friend of his, but who cared about the light skin? The only thing I cared about was scoring Jennifer a date with David.

I devised an idea that might get me cussed out later, but that isn't important. What's important is setting Jennifer up with a good man I know will treat her how she deserves to be treated.

I reach for my phone in my pocket, pressing it against my ear like I'm on the phone with someone, hoping this plan will work out.

"Hey, how's it going?" I waited a little while, as the "person" seemed to be responding.

"Yeah, nothing much. Question though, didn't Jennifer talk to you about that one student's dad? The student's name is Isabella, but I can't remember her father's name." I paused, checking to see if I had caught their attention. Sadly, I somewhat did, but somewhat isn't enough.

"Oh, right, right, David, that's the father's name. She was also talking about him to me, his looks, personality, and practically everything about him. I'm beginning to think she has feelings for him," I said, seeing that I finally caught their full attention. A sly smirk couldn't help but appear on my face, seeing how invested they've become in my "conversation."

The instant I turned my phone off, I felt a light tap on my shoulder, revealing David and his friend behind me, full of curiosity and confusion.

"Hey, I overheard you on the phone with someone and heard you mention my friend's daughter and a woman he knows. I just wanted to confirm if it's the same woman we're thinking of," he asked, seeming to have...hope in his eyes.

"Yeah, Isabella Brown is my friend Jennifer's student. Her full name is Jennifer Gonzalez though, if that better answers your question."

"See, I told you it wasn't just a coincidence," he said, hitting David on the chest.

"That's great though, because I have a very important question that will help David do something I've been bugging him about for the longest. I'm Jackson, by the way," he said, extending his hand.

I shook his hand, wondering what he was about to ask, but I had a vast hunch it had something to do with me exposing Jennifer's feelings about David.

"Manolo, so what's the question?" I asked, putting my hands in my pockets.

"David wants's to ask Jennifer out on a date soon, but he doesn't know if she's single, and that's the only thing stopping him."

It took everything in me not to call Jennifer at this very moment and tell her I was right, but I could always do that after he asked her out.

"Jackson, what the fuck, why you got to be so blunt" David semi-whispers sending glares at him.

"Why do you gotta be so difficult?" he commented, giving him the same glare.

After having a glaring contest with each other, Jackson asked me again whether Jennifer was single. I was trying my best to figure out a way to explain her situation without telling all her business.

"Unfortunately, she's married," I answered, watching both faces drop, especially David's.

"Oh..." was all David had to say as disappointment covered his face.

"Thanks for answering my friend's question. We won't waste any more of your time".

They both turned around and were about to walk away, and I panicked because this golden opportunity was practically slipping away from my grasp.

I wasn't going to let a good man like David get away because of that asshole Nicolas.

"Wait, wait, wait," I blurted out, grasping both of their attentions again,

"Yes, she is married, but she's not happily married. Her husband doesn't treat her right, she wants to escape the marriage but doesn't know how to. And even though she's married, she doesn't love him. She has feelings for you, David," I rapidly said, hoping he would still consider asking her out.

"What do you mean she doesn't know how to leave him?" They asked, completely lost.

It wasn't my place to tell him what happens in her private life, so I would let her tell him that herself.

"It's extremely complicated, but just give it a shot. I swear you won't regret this".

Since we had a little bit of time to kill, we devised a plan for when and how he could ask out Jennifer, and I couldn't hide the happiness I was feeling as this plan came together.
