A year later

"Lia did you really have to spend this much money on my wedding, trust me I appreciate that you did but I feel something more simple would've been easier to do" I say as the expensive makeup team she hired continued to apply the eyeshadow and lipstick.

"You and David said you wanted a Paris themed wedding and I never do anything half assed" she protest strapping on her heels.

"Yea I know, but when I said themed I didn't think you were going to fly us out to Paris to host the wedding" I giggle as one of the workers applies a light blush to my cheeks.

Shrugging her shoulder she takes a sip of her wine, "like I said I don't do anything half assed, besides what's more Paris themed then actually being in Paris" she smiles confidently.

"That defeats the whole purpose of the term themed" I say dragging out the word themed.

Scoffing she sets her glass of wine down leaning back on the couch. "ok you have to admit the venue is beautiful though, it was worth every penny spent".

She makes a good point, the expense for this whole wedding was incredibly pricey but it was the most breathtaking view I've ever seen.

David let me pick the colors for our wedding so I went with pink and white.

There were multiple archways going down the aisle fully covered in different shades of pink and white flowers.

The isle was shaped with the pink and white flowers as well with small golden lights coming from out the ground.

Four elegant clear chairs were arranged perfectly through each row.

But at the end of the isle was my favorite.

It was a white gazebo that was covered top to bottom with three different light shades of pink.

There was a miniature version of the Eiffel tower
behind it, and golden stringed light wrapped neatly around it.

It was much more than what I was expecting.

The receptionist hall had the same theme as well.

There were golden chairs and tables scattered neatly around the hall while there were light pink silk table cloths and matching cushions on the chairs.

At first we were going to have regular clear plates but of course Emilia say absolutely not to that idea. There were matching golden plates and silver wear placed neatly in front of each chair so that way everyone that attended didn't have to worry about finding a plate.

It didn't stop there though.

There were multiple clear candle holders on every table each having lit candles inside of them.

Along with that in the center of each table there was a golden Eiffel Tower flower vase that each held different shades of pink flowers in them.

Then last but not least, there were four giant golden Eiffel towers placed in each corner as blush pink lights were wrapped around them and a gold and pink dance floor right in the middle of the room.

Whoever Emilia hired as our wedding planner did one hell of a job with decorating this place.

Even the six layer cake was a picture of pure elegance, it was something straight out of a magazine.

"Lia" I say as she sits up straight.

"Yes Jeni?".

"How much money exactly did you spend on this wedding?" I asked as a look of pride spreads.

"Half a million dollars" she casually answers.

Half a million what?!

Choking on my own saliva one of the makeup artist pats me on the back in an attempt to help calm me down.

"You spent half a million dollars on our wedding !" I say shock laced in my voice.

"Well the reception hall, the venue, the flowers, the gazebo, the food, and that big ass cake did cost me a pretty penny, but since those Eiffel towers and tables and chairs are real gold that's what most of the money went towards".

Real.....gold.

"You mean to tell that's all real gold out there?!" I ask pointing out the window.

Slowly standing up, she makes her way towards me with a warm smile on her face.

Grasping my hands in hers she says this next forcing all those dark thoughts to go away.

You don't deserve this.

You never will deserve this.

You need to atone for your sins before you deserve anything good in life.

"Whatever degrading thoughts you have going on in that head needs to go ahead and fuck off" she joked as a light chuckle escaped my lips. "Jeni you are my best friend and you are worth way more than half a million dollars, you were robbed of living a good life years ago and of having your dream wedding as well, the least I can do is make that happen for you so please do not feel bad because I did this not because I have to but because I wanted to and because you deserve it".

Returning a warm smile I feel tears welding up in my eyes.

Noticing my tears she quickly wipes them away as I notice the tears build in her eyes as well.

"How are you going to wipe away my tears while you're crying yourself" I say with a half sob half laugh.

Sniffing she rolls her eyes and she successfully wipes away my tears.

"I'm not the one getting married today in front of a whole audience, can't afford for you to have tear stains".

"Shit you're right" I say checking the mirror to spot any stains.

Good there aren't none.

Since my makeup and hair was done the time had finally arrived.

"Ready to get married to the man of your dreams?" Emilia ask extending her hand out for mine.

Sucking in a deep breath I exhale placing my hand in hers.

"Ready as I'll ever be".
