The next day

Jennifer P.O.V

Waking up in David's warm embrace is probably one of the best feelings I've experienced living on this earth.

Usually, I'm used to waking up in an empty bed or with my guard up, but this time, I woke up fully relaxed and the calmest I've ever been.

David is still fast asleep, and I don't want to wake him since he looks so cute and peaceful, so I slowly slip out of bed, successfully not waking him up, and then make my way toward his dresser to look for a shirt or something to slip on since my clothes are scattered all over the living room floor.

Finding a gray shirt, I put it on, then exited the room to make me something to eat in the kitchen after hearing my stomach growl for the second time this morning.

Browsing through his fridge, I try to find something small since eating all his food would be rude, especially when he has himself and Isabella to feed.

Eventually, I found some eggs and ham and decided to make a ham omelet since I would have to leave soon to return to that hell hole Nicolas calls "our" home.

After cooking the omelet, I eat, clean up the mess, and then go to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

I hope David is awake so I can give him a proper goodbye.

Sometime later, I step out of the shower, wrapping a towel around my head and body, then leave to see if David is awake.

Thankfully, he is.

"I see you're awake, sleepy head," I tease, approaching him. "Did you enjoy your rest?".

Placing his hands on my waist, he pulls me close to him, burying his head in between my breasts.

"Not as much as I enjoyed hearing you moan and scream last night, but it was pretty good." He smirks slightly, looking up at me.

Hitting him on the shoulder, I feel my face heat up, wondering how he can say that so casually.

"Haha, always a flirt," I sarcastically say, getting on top of him and straddling his lap. "I'm glad I didn't disappoint, though."

"Did you eat already?"

" Yeah, I fixed myself an omelet and then took a shower. I was just waiting for you to wake up so I could properly tell you goodbye before I left."

"Oh," he says as his face saddens. "Do you have to go already? I just woke up and haven't gotten a chance to spend time with you this morning."

"Unfortunately, I don't need Nicolas having the whole FBI searching for me, but I promise to text you as soon as I get home." I cup his face, kissing his forehead.

"You promise?"

"Yes, I promise. Now stop being a big baby," I laugh as he lets me out of his hold.

"I'm not being a baby," he pouts.

"Yeah, sure".

Once I've dried myself off, I put the towels in the dirty clothes hamper and went into the living room to put on my underwear and clothes, preparing to step foot back into that house.

"Don't forget to text me as soon as you get back, okay? I'll be waiting for that text."

"I promise that I won't. I will text you as soon as I enter that door, letting you know I got home safe and sound."

"Alright," he gives me a warm, tender smile, "I love you."

"I love you too".
