After the first guy finished playing the guitar and the woman played the keyboard, it was my turn, but David still didn't figure out I was up next.
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to find our last and final talent tonight.
Flashing the spotlights down on us again, it passes me a couple of times, then finally lands on me as David gasps in surprise.
After giving him a sweet smile, I walked to the stage.
Slowly going up the steps, I feel nervous but exhilarated at the same time.
I've only ever sung in front of my students but never an adult audience, so I was a bit worried that they'll boo me off the stage, but I'm more concerned about David's opinion than I am about the others.
I was letting her know that I only needed the mic and the instrumental version of the song I planned on singing.
"Hi, everyone. My name is Jennifer Gonzalez, and I will be singing My All by Mariah Carey for a certain someone tonight," I gleamed, seeing the confusion and shock on David's face.
Hearing the song start, I suck in a deep breath imagining that it's just me and David in the room and that nobody else exists.
"Te estoy pensando, en mi larga noche en Soledad, si el error fue amarte, en mi corazon vuelvo a estar mal, porque estoy en ti y no se vivir si a mi Aldo no estas, mi todo yo te doy, pro una noche mas, y asi poder sentir tu cuerpo junto a mi, ya no puedo estar, reviviendo aqui nuestra cancion, mi todo, todo doy por tener tu amor".

Speechless, I feel a scorching heat spread all over my face as she put's her heart and soul into that song.
I thought the surprise was going to be some special gift she prepared for me or something else that she would've come up with that creative mind of her's, but I didn't expect her to dedicate a whole song for me, much less sing in front of an entire audience.
Nevertheless, hearing her sing would even shame the angel of music because of how majestic and stunning her voice sounds.
She sings with so much emotion in her voice that you can genuinely feel how she feels through every note and lyric.
She never breaks eye contact with me the whole time she sings, letting me know that this is meant for me and me alone.
Yeah, it's official. I'm never letting this woman go, I don't know how, but I will find a way to help her leave her husband so she can fully be mine.
Finishing the song, she sticks the microphone back in the stand and takes a bow, as everyone quickly stands up, clapping and cheering in praise.
I know she said she wanted to be a songwriter, but she would have one hell of a singing career.
Her voice carries so much strength that it should be heard everywhere, but that's something for her to decide, not me.
Stepping off the stage, she returned to our table, sat down, and acted as if she hadn't just performed for a lifetime.
"No, no, no, don't go on stage. Give us that heartfelt performance, and then prance back here like it was nothing," I semi-yell, still in utter shock.
"Well, the performance was only meant for you, really, but I see you enjoyed it more than I hoped you would," she laughs while scooching closer to me.
"Enjoyed is an understatement. I fucking loved what you did for me, baby" I wrap my arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer so our bodies are molded together. "Thank you for that." I removed my arm from her shoulder, put my hand on her head, and pulled her in for a kiss.
