I walk with adam to the elevator, pressing the third floor.
"So what freak shit have you been getting up to? You fuckin the deer now?"
My face heats up.
"N-no! Maybe! Yeah! Shut the fuck up!"
"Oh damn. Freaky. I still fuckin hate you. But nice job." He offers a fist bump, but I leave him hanging.
"Hey uhm, serious question.."
"Uh oh." He responds.
"Did you know michael and peter erased me and charlies memory of being on earth."

Silence.
Then the elevator dings.
We step out.
"Uh—...yeah. Lilith was up in heaven the entire time you had been up there."
"Why'd he feel the need to erase my memory."
"He didn't. He happily did it but god asked."
"What-..."
I stop.
Taking in this information.
"Look I shouldn't be telling you this."
"No. Tell me."
"I-.." adam sighs. "God didnt like the idea of you leaving your wife for a man, one thats still alive no less. So when michael brought you back he was to erase your memory, and I was to bribe lilith into staying with you until Charlotte was older. Then she could live in heaven."

I take adam to his room.

"Heres your key, 7:30am breakfast, 8:30am redemption meeting. Testing at the end of each month."
"Testing?"
"If you're not improving within 2 tests then you're given a week to find somewhere else to go. If you fail and then pass then your streak is restored and we'll work with you on the failed topic,"
"So you're not a mischievous bad boy anymore?"
"I have a family, a job, and hell to run. So no."

I turn to leave, walking to me and Als room.
Opening my door and heading into our bedroom.
"Fuck my life.." I mumble, plopping down on the bed.
