I walk into the second hotel, heading to my fathers office.
"Dad?"
Empty.
Uhmm.
I close the door and walk across the hall to Als office.
"Al..?"
He's sitting at his desk, his ears pinned down.
"Wheres dad?"
He tenses.
"Not here." He mumbles.
"Huh..?"
He sighs, setting down his pen.
"Your father and I haven't been getting along recently. And as a result split up."
My heart sinks.
"What..where is he then?"
"I'm not sure. He never came back."
He never came back?
He probably..went back to the castle.
"Okay..I uhm..I gotta go."
I walk out.
If he didnt come back then I have to drag him back.
I cant let them just throw this away..

I get to the castle and open the front door.
"Dad!"
Silence.
I walk down the hallway to the kitchen,
"Dad??"
Silence.
Hm.
Maybe his bedroom.
I walk through the halls, through my old home.
Straight to the bedroom I'd crawl in bed with my mom when i had a bad dream.
"Dad?"
I walk in and he's balled up in bed,
"Dad.."
I walk over to the bed and climb up next to him.
"Hey char.."
"What happened..why aren't you and Al talking anymore.."
"I just..we weren't getting along. And I needed space.."
I frown and lay down next to him.
"What were you guys arguing about..?"
"Just everything.." He starts. "And he's been drinking more frequently. I just..don't know how to explain it. Like I trust him but I don't.."
I frown.
Looking up at the ceiling.
"You shouldn't throw it all away. What happened to adopting. The hotel plans. Everything."
I look at him.
He's always been closed off.
"I just..don't think I can trust him anymore."
I scoot closer and hug him.
"Your decision of course. But think about it.."
He hugs back for a moment before letting go.
I climb up out of the bed.
"Get some sleep, I love you, dad."
"I love you too charlie."
