Apparently whatever you had eaten for lunch wasn't settling with your stomach. To put it simply, you felt like absolute shit.
"Uhhh . . . you look like you're about to throw up on me." Megumi inched away from his spot across the table from you. "Are you alright? Or do you need a bucket?"
You shook your head. "No no. I'm . . . I'm good . . . I think."
You took a deep breath, trying to steady the queasiness that was threatening to overtake you. The room spun a little, and you had to close your eyes for a moment to regain your focus.
"Seriously, you look like you're going to keel over," Megumi said, concern evident in his voice. "Just let me know if you need anything. There's a vending machine down the hall with some ginger ale. It might help."
"Oh yeah. Ginger ale. That sounds good- FUCK MEGUMI MOVE!"
You ducked your head under the table . . . and he just managed to move his shoes out the way of your vomit.
You felt an immediate wave of embarrassment as the contents of your stomach made their unwelcome appearance on the floor.
"Shit! Are you okay?!" Megumi asked, his voice tinged with panic.
His question was only met with more vomiting.
Megumi's face paled as he took in the scene. He was quick to act, grabbing a nearby trash can and placing it within your reach. "Here, use this!" he urged, though he could barely hide his distress.
You gratefully grabbed the can, trying to get the worst of it contained. As you heaved, Megumi scrambled to find some cleaning supplies, grabbing a roll of paper towels and a disinfectant spray from a nearby cupboard.
"Just hang in there," he said. "I'll clean this up and get you some water. Just focus on feeling better."
He wiped up the mess as best as he could, trying not to gag at the unpleasant task. Once he had the worst of it cleaned up, he returned with a bottle of water and a couple of clean towels.
"Here," he said gently, handing you the water. "Sip this slowly. Didn't you have a fever a week ago."
You nodded your head. "Yeah. But I think it's something I ate."
You took the water, taking small sips as you tried to regain your composure.
Megumi's eyes softened with concern as he took in your weary expression. "Yeah, that definitely sounds rough. I had food poisoning yesterday too. Except my vomit went all over my room. It was disgusting."
You grimaced, "Jeez. What did you eat?"
"I bet you my life it was the Panna Cotta I ate in the cafeteria. Yuji insisted I try it."
Your eyes widened, "Holy shit! I ate that too - at Yuji's insistence."
Megumi slapped his forehead, "Oh for fucks sake. You're telling me Yuji gave us both food poisoning."
"Great. Just great. I knew that guy's food choices were questionable, but this is a whole new level. I feel like we should only trust Sukuna when it comes to food now."
Megumi nodded, "We had this coming to us though. I mean . . . we've both watched as Yuji ate food off the park floor. Why did we listen to that guy?"
"Cause we're idiots 'gumi. Cause we're idiots."
"How are you feeling?"
"Like I'm going to vomit. And my stomach's killing me."
He took a moment to think, then said, "Alright, let's try to manage this. I'll grab some more water and then we'll head up to my room."
