Your injuries still hurt like shit. And apparently you were going to be out of commision for a while. The head nurse had written you a note when you came in for an exam.
But at least you didn't get your head bashed into the wall this time. That had to be a win of some sort.
The older woman had walked you to the door of the office before shooing you away with some instructions.
"You okay?"
You looked up from where you were limping into the eyes (er . . . blindfold) of a concerned looking Gojo.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little banged up."
Gojo's gaze traveled over your bandaged legs and the cold compress a nurse had managed to set up for your ribs. He raised an eyebrow. "A little banged up, huh? That's a lot of bandages for a 'little.'"
You tried to muster a nonchalant shrug, wincing slightly as it pulled at your ribs. "Well, it was a rough mission. I'll live. Nobara did a decent job patching me up. The nurse got me the rest of the way."
Gojo's eyes softened as he took in your condition. "Nobara's skills are definitely impressive. Come on. I'll walk you to your room. You look like you need the rest."
You shook your head. "Can't go there."
"Why not?"
"Apparently they're doing some sort of renovation on my window." You frowned, "The sill around it broke a while ago. It was leaking every time it rained."
He took a couple steps forward and offered you his hand. "Alright. Come to my office instead. I've got a couch in there you can lie on."
You hesitated for a moment, then accepted Gojo's hand, allowing him to help steady you as you limped alongside him. "Thanks, Gojo. I appreciate it. And... sorry for the trouble."
Gojo shrugged casually. "No trouble at all. You're not the first person to need a place to crash. And besides, it's always nice to have a change of scenery, right?"
As you made your way through the corridors, Gojo maintained a steady pace.
You tried to distract yourself from the discomfort by making small talk. "So, how's the whole 'saving the world' thing going? Any new adventures or epic battles? I haven't seen you in a week."
Gojo laughed softly, clearly amused by your attempt to lighten the mood. "Oh, you know, the usual. Cursed spirits, troublesome students, and a lot of paperwork that never seems to end. But I wouldn't trade it for anything."
" . . . We're not troublesome."
He laughed harder and poked your nose with his free hand. "Yes you are. You just don't realize it."
" . . . At least I'm not troublesome."
Gojo scoffed, "You're the most troublesome out of everyone sweetheart."
You raised an eyebrow at Gojo's playful jab. "Sweetheart? Really?"
He grinned, unabashed. "Yeah, it's a term of endearment. Look it up in the dictionary. Besides, you're the one who's always getting into trouble. Can't help but be a bit concerned."
"Just keeping things interesting," you retorted with a weak smile. "Besides, someone's gotta keep you on your toes."
"True," Gojo said, chuckling. "But let's aim for fewer injuries, okay? I'm starting to think you're on a mission to see how many bandages you can rack up."
You winced slightly as you adjusted your position. "I promise I'm not trying to. Just had a particularly rough one this time."
"Well, you've got a good excuse this time," Gojo said, pushing open the door to his office. "But seriously, take it easy. You're no good to us if you're in pieces."
