There was something about furniture shopping that always managed to put Nobara in a good mood. Maybe it had to do with the light fixtures.
She had always enjoyed looking at light fixtures. And furniture shops always had some of the nicest, most intricate, most impractical light fixtures.
She wanted each and every one of them.
Your hand was held firmly in her own as she dragged you around the store. "Oh look! Isn't that pretty!"
You followed her finger to where she pointed. A painting. A beautiful painting of a gothic castle.
A grin broke out across your face. "You're right! That's absolutely stunning!" You rested your head against her shoulder and she smiled.
"Want it?"
You immediately scrunched up your face. "It looks expensive. Besides - didn't Gojo just want us to look at sinks or something?"
"Couches and sinks and lights." The ginger haired girl laughed. "And yeah. But who cares. You know his card's unlimited spending right?"
You frowned. "I know. But I don't want to waste his money."
Nobara nearly rolled her eyes. You were much too thoughtful for your own good. It was cute if you thought Gojo would care how much you spent.
It was funny. Before leaving, he had encouraged you to get whatever you wanted. But now it seemed you were intent on sticking to the list.
"Remind me again why we need to go furniture shopping." Nobara nearly cried when you let go of her hand in favour of brushing your hand along a towel. "Man this is soft!"
She touched the towel too before nodding. "It is. And to answer your first question, he needs some new things."
She subtly grabbed your hand again, mentally noting to come back and pick up the towel at a later date. She certainly hadn't come up with a great cover story for shopping for the new house.
But that didn't really matter.
"Seriously, though," she continued (attempting to sell the point), "Gojo's place is like a frat house. He needs a little style!" She paused at a sleek, modern couch. "What do you think about this one?"
You furrowed your brow, examining the couch's minimalist design. "It's nice, but... it's kind of bland, isn't it? I mean, where's the personality?"
Nobara laughed, her eyes sparkling. "Exactly! We need to make sure he doesn't just throw a bunch of boring stuff together. How about something with a pop of color?"
"Now you're talking!" You nodded enthusiastically, a smile spreading across your face. "What about that one?" You pointed to a bright teal couch, its plush cushions inviting.
"That's more like it!" Nobara beamed. "We should definitely get him that. It screams Gojo."
"Wait!" You immediately halted your steps. "Look at that cream couch. Oh it's so pretty!"
You pointed to a cream-colored couch that looked impossibly soft, its fabric inviting you to sink into it. It had elegant curves and subtle stitching that made it look both luxurious and cozy.
Nobara raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile on her lips. "So we're switching gears now? From bold to... this? What's next, floral patterns?"
You laughed, but your gaze remained glued to the couch. "Okay, okay, maybe not floral. But this one just feels... inviting, you know? Like it could be the centerpiece of a perfect cozy evening."
