Your head was still spinning from your kiss. Your first kiss. Not that you were particularly upset. You really loved Yuji. And it was an accident. And for some reason . . .
A small part of you wished it hadn't been.
Megumi (sitting across from you in the cafeteria) was giving you a weird look. "You alright sweetie?"
You blinked, shaking yourself from the daze of your earlier kiss with Yuji. The cafeteria buzzed with the usual noise of lodge guests.
"Uh, yeah, I'm fine," you said, forcing a smile. "Just had a bit of a day, that's all."
Megumi raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying your vague explanation. "A bit of a day, huh? You look like you've seen a ghost or something."
You tried to keep your composure as you sat down across from Megumi. "It's nothing, really. Just some skiing mishaps."
Megumi studied you for a moment longer, clearly unconvinced by your explanation. He took a sip of his drink, his eyes never leaving you. "Skiing mishaps, huh? You know, if you're feeling off about something, you don't have to keep it to yourself."
You appreciated his concern but didn't feel ready to open up about what happened with Yuji. The kiss had been unexpected and confusing, and you were still processing your feelings. "I really am okay, Megumi."
Gojo (who somehow appeared out of midair) slid into a seat next to you. "Well hello. What's up everyone?"
Megumi raised an eyebrow. "Nothing much. Just interrogating this one over here." He pointed at you. "She's been off since Yuji whisked her away to ski."
Gojo settled into the seat next to you with his usual carefree demeanor, but there was a sharpness in his eyes as he glanced between you and Megumi. "Yuji, huh? Sounds like a fun day."
Yuji, who had just joined the table with a plate of food, grinned widely. "Yeah, we had a blast. Even if it did end with a few unexpected snow angels."
Gojo's eyes twinkled with curiosity as he turned to you. "So, what's the story behind these 'snow angels'? You've got quite the serious expression for someone who's supposed to be having fun."
You fumbled with something on your jacket. "Nothing. It was great."
Yuji took a sip of his drink before placing another in front of you. "It's okay. You can tell them." A smug smile rested on his face (that went unnoticed by you).
Gojo leaned in, his curiosity clearly piqued. "Come on, don't leave us hanging. What happened on the slopes that's got you looking like you're carrying the weight of the world?"
Holy shit, he really hoped it wasn't something bad.
You hesitated, your fingers absently tracing the edge of your plate. "It's really not a big deal. Just a bit of a mishap with the skiing."
Megumi crossed his arms, his gaze still focused on you. "A mishap that's clearly bothering you. It's okay if you want to talk about it."
You sighed, "Fine. It wasn't a bad thing . . . It was just... well, during one of the falls, Yuji and I kind of—"
You stopped short, unable to find the right words.
Yuji's face flushed slightly, and he cut in, his voice light but slightly strained. "We had an accident where we, uh, ended up kissing."
There was a gasp, and the mug Megumi was holding was falling to the floor.
The sudden crash of a mug hitting the floor was so loud it startled everyone in the cafeteria. But it didn't take long before everyone went back to their own things. Your heart leapt into your throat as you looked up, wide-eyed, to see Megumi standing with his hands still in the air, his usual expression replaced with a look of utter shock.
