For the first time ever, the boys weren't late.
Megumi, Yuji and Gojo were outside your door before Nobara made it back with . . . well she never said what she left behind. But that wasn't important.
The point was, the impossible had just occurred.
The boys weren't late. This was a day for the history books. Just to be safe, you checked outside your window. It appeared the sky was still there - so the apocalypse hadn't started.
Yet.
There was always still time for the tables to turn.
Maybe you were going crazy. Maybe this was all a dream. Perhaps after Nobara left, you tripped and smashed your head into the wall. You even rubbed your eyes to make sure you weren't hallucinating.
But they were there.
Megumi, Yuji, and Gojo stood outside your door, looking uncharacteristically punctual, their expression displaying casual nonchalance. They exchanged glances, perhaps silently acknowledging the novelty of the situation.
"Hey guys," you greeted them, your voice borderline strained, "You're all early. Did hell freeze over or something?"
Megumi's lips quirked into a small smile as he dryly replied. "Appears so."
His eyes flickered to Yuji and Gojo, who both chuckled at the remark.
Yuji scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "I guess we just didn't want to keep you waiting, (Y/n). We've got some fun plans for today!"
Gojo was sporting his trademark sunglasses. "That's right! Today's the day we embark on a little adventure. And what better way to start than being fashionably early? I'm sure you're not upset about seeing yours truly so soon!"
You chuckled and stepped aside to allow them inside. "No, I suppose I'm not. But I must say again, I'm really impressed. Shocked even. Flabbergasted. Discomb-"
"Okay," Megumi groaned, "we get it, we get it. We're never on time. Our bad."
You chuckled at Megumi's deadpan response, shaking your head in mock disappointment. "Well, I won't get too used to this punctuality. It's a rare sight."
Gojo groans, "Oh come on (Y/n)! We're capable of surprises, you know. Today's all about breaking expectations!"
Yuji followed suit, flashing you an apologetic smile. "Yeah, sorry if we've kept you waiting in the past. We'll make it up to you today, promise!"
Nobara sauntered in just then, holding up a bag of snacks triumphantly. "I'm back! And look what I've got—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Megumi interrupted with a wry grin. "You left behind your ability to punctuate?"
You checked out the window again. But the skies were clear. The apocalypse hadn't started. But it was getting damn near. Because there was no way in hell . . .
"Did you just make a joke?"
"Why are you staring at me like that (Y/n)?"
"I'm in shock. I think I need a defibrillator."
"You're breaking my heart here."
