Chapter 6

"This tastes really good mom" I got back into the kitchen and Cassie was already sat down with some of the food mom made

"You like it ? Well I can make it more often then" sure you will "Chloe, take some too"

"I'm not hungry"

"Oh come on just a little bit"

"It tastes really good Mel" I grabbed the tiniest piece of the food to not disappoint cass and sat down "so will mom be around for the sleepover ?" I looked at her then at our mother who turned to us too

"What sleepover ?"

"My friends and I have a sleepover every week and it goes around the group for who's hosting it and this week is my week so they're all coming here"

"Oh I'd love to be here if you want me to" My sister looked over to me with big hopeful eyes

"I don't think that's a great idea cass, you're gonna be with your friends and I'll be with mine and mom would get bored"

"Oh don't worry I can hang around on my own too, I'm not a child after all" she laughed shaking her head at me

"Please Mel"

"Cassie..."

"Please" I looked at her and she genuinely seemed so excited to have mom around

"It's your sleepover Cass it's for you to decide" I smiled at her, I then quietly finished the food I put on my plate and waited for cass to leave before I got up and brought our dishes to the sink

"Oh I can-"

"I've got it" I placed the dishes in the dishwasher while my mother watched me "Look mom, Cassie really wants you here so I am begging you please don't ruin this for her. Don't do to her what you did to me"

"I would never ruin my daughter's sleepover, what kind of monster would do that to their own daughter" I left her behind without answering, she was right, what kind of monster would do that ? But she was the monster that did it to me too many times

Destiny came not too long after while I was still moving some furnitures around in the living room, she came through the back door meaning she came right into the living room and helped me with the couch since I could move it much myself

"So, where is she ?"

"I don't even know, I'm really trying to avoid her" we went upstairs to get the blankets and pillows "this is the worst, I can't believe she came around to ruin another amazing memory. And the worst part is she expects me to be all normal. She said what kind of monster would ruin their daughter's sleepover like are you kidding me ?"

"Destiny, I haven't seen you around in ages" I rolled my eyes hearing my mothers voice yeah maybe cause you haven't been around

"Hey ms. Raven"

"Oh please call me Monica, I've known you since you were just a child. Here let me help you with that"

"We've got it mom"

"Nonsense"she picked up a few pillows herself before going downstairs, I waited a few seconds just taking a breath while Destiny looked at me

"She's trying to help"

"I know"

We prepared the living room putting out some snacks and games and then just waited for them to arrive

Cassies friends started arriving at 4pm so we decided to leave the living room to give them their own space a little

We got everyone's pizza order once they all arrived and Destiny and I went up to my room to get our own sleepover set up, we also already changed into some comfy clothes since we didn't want to sit around in jeans all day watching movies, I put on some short pyjama pants I found in my closet and a big hoodie on top of it since it was still pretty cold

"This is insane, how could she possibly time her being here during the worst day possible"

"I don't know, but I'm really praying for cassies sake that she can behave" my best friend agreed with me, sitting down on my bed besides me

"I really hope so too"

"It's gonna be fine Melly, don't worry your pretty little head too much about that" she tickled the side of my head a little making me scrunch my face with a smile

"Yeah you're probably right, I'm just overthinking it"

"Exactly, so what movie are we watching first ? When is Cole arriving ? Don't want him to miss any of these rom-coms" I grinned as she opened Disney + on my tv, which was actually Cole's old one that he didn't use anymore and gifted me

"How about 10 things I have about you ?"

"Uh yeah, a classic"

"He's supposed to be here like now, I'm sure he'll be here soon" I shrugged looking at the time on my phone

"Oh yeah he has such a long way until he's here let's give him some time" Destiny jokingly agreed as I got a message

"Speaking of the devil" I got up from my bed and went downstairs, knocking on the living room door before looking inside to the girls "hows it going down here so far ?" I smiled at them as their giggling slowly died down

"Great ! Mom is making us some cookies right now" I really fought to keep my smile up at that nodding slightly

"That's great, just call out if you need anything yeah ?"

"Sure, mom said I could also call her though to not bother you, you know" I was saved by the back door opening and the girls turning their attention over to Cole, I was pretty certain a few of them had a tiny crush on him from the way they adjusted their hair and looked at him

"Sorry, didn't want to burst into anything here"

"It's fine really"

"Great. I brought some pop tarts in case you got hungry for like a midnight snack or something"

"Wow, that's very thoughtful of you Colton"

"You didn't bring any for us ?" I said raising my eyebrows at my best friend

"No ? Get your own pop tarts" I rolled my eyes shaking my head as he closed the door behind himself

"Well we've prepared some movies that you will for sure love upstairs, we waited for you so you wouldn't miss out on anything" Destiny grinned at him, his smile faded slowly

"Can't I just hang out with you ? You're surely doing something cooler than them"

"Stop bothering the girls Cole they don't want you here" I was pretty certain that none of them would have a problem with him tagging along, well no one except Cole

"Okay okay, can't even have a conversation here anymore" he ruffled through cassies hair before coming over to us, we left the girls there and went upstairs ourselves to get the movies started
