"I don't know Des, I don't want it to change things between us" I sighed pulling my legs to me, she sat opposite of me on the bed
"It's not gonna make things weird Mel, you told him about all of it"
"Yeah but me telling him is not half as bad as him actively experiencing it. It was horrible Destiny I don't know why I ever thought I was up to a relationship" I muttered covering my face with my hands "I probably ruined everything" I pulled my hands up and ran them through my hair leaving them behind my neck
"You didn't ruin anything Mel, Walker isn't like that. He genuinely likes you"
"How do you know that ?"
"Because I've seen the way he looks at you, it's like he's trying to take in every single detail of you and never wants to look away again. I would kill for someone to look at me like that" I sighed moving my hands back to rest on my knees "and from what I've heard from you that guy treats you amazing, he got your sister a teddy bear because she mentioned she likes them once. He cares about you and he pays attention to you and the people you care about too" I couldn't help but smile a little at her words
"Yeah but he deserves better Des"
"Nu uh. You're not going to ruin this for yourself Mel, you won't. I won't let you do that again" she leaned towards me and pulled me into a hug, letting go after a few seconds and looking at my lip "it looks fine"
"It's a busted lip it isn't that bad, I'll survive" I shrugged
"Can't he come over or something ? Like emotional support"
"He has online meetings and just like acting stuff" I shook my head smiling at her "my boyfriend has meetings"
"That's insane.... You have a boyfriend"
"Yeah" I couldn't wipe the grin away from my face if I wanted to in that moment "I always thought you would be the first to get a boyfriend between the two of us"
"Nah, I always knew it would be you" she shook her head "I can't compare to you"
"Oh please, you're so funny"
"I'm not. Mel I don't think you realise how awesome you are, any guy would be lucky to date you" I looked at her for a second before rolling my eyes and laughing out slightly
"Oh shut up"
"I can never have a serious conversation with you" Destiny laughed hitting my arm playfully
"Enough serious conversations here, it's my self care day I'm not gonna ruin that with seriousness"
"Mel !" I groaned at my sister yelling out for me "Can you come down here...?" I looked at Destiny with a frown
"I thought your mother left" she said to me as I got out of my bed
"She did... I mean I thought she did" I opened my door and went down the stairs with Destiny close behind me "Cass ?" Just as I was about to reach the last step i stopped seeing my sister standing at the door with someone else
I stood there confused for a second before starting to smile and go down the last few steps and rushing over to hug Walker
"I thought you had meetings"
"Are you okay ?" He rested one hand on the back of my head and the other one on my back
"I'm alright" he pulled away cupping my face with his hands and looking at my lip "it doesn't even hurt" I muttered, it came out as merely a whisper as I observed his eyes full of worry
"I'm sorry Mel"
"It's not your fault"
"Mel"
"It's not your fault Walker. She's crazy she would've gotten mad about something I'm so glad that you didn't say anything"
"Hey uh, Cassie want to go to Starbucks ? I heard they have this.... Great.. new drink"
"Sure" I turned my head slightly, walkers eyes remaining on me as I watched the two of them leave, destiny raising her eyes as if to say I told you so as she closed the door
"I thought you had meetings" I repeated to Walker once the door was closed
"I postponed them" he shrugged, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear
"Walker" a small smile tucked on my lips as he started smiling I rolled my eyes "you didn't have to do that. I'm fine"
"I missed you" he shrugged
"Walker you were here two days ago, we talked an hour ago"
"I still missed you" he placed his forehead on my shoulder, turning his head to face me
"And you complain about your sister missing her long distance boyfriend who she gets to see every few weeks or months" he placed a kiss on my cheek before standing up straight
"let's go on a date" I frowned at him with a smile
"What ?"
"Do you want to go on a date with me ?"
"Walker"
"Like the cinema and then dinner" that would mean we would very much be out in the public, where we could very much be seen, where he could very much be recognised
I turned my gaze to him and saw the excitement in his eyes and all the worry flew away suddenly, I couldn't possibly turn the idea down cause I was scared that someone in my small town could recognise him
"I would like to go on a date with you" I grinned seeing his face light up more "but I need to get ready first, I look like a mess I just got out of bed" I confessed looking down at my pyjama pants and white top
"You look beautiful Mel, but sure take your time"
