Chaptet 26

"Are you really sure I can't just stay home ?"

"Come on Mel you can't just drive yourself crazy because of some guy" I groaned picking up my phone

"But I don't feel like going to a party"

"I don't care. You're going. I'm waiting for you hurry up, love you"

"Love you" she hung up leaving me standing in my room looking at the mirror

It had been six days since Walker was here and I still couldn't stop thinking about him, I wanted to text him but I also really didn't know what I would text him, what would I say ?

Hey sorry about trauma dumping my entire shitty life please come back

I shook my head and put my headphones on to shut my thoughts out on my walk to Destiny

"There you are, took you long enough" she pulled me inside the house by my arm and dragged me up into her room with her

"Hey Flynn" I stopped as we passed by her brothers room

"s'up Mel, haven't seen you around in a minute"

"I was here a few days ago it's just you"

"Ah"

"Stop bothering my friend Flynn" I saw him rolling his eyes as Destiny shouted out of her room

"Stop being so annoying Des" he shouted back to her "so she's dragging you to Eliza's now ?" I laughed nodding

"Yeah, if I could get out of that I would, trust me"

"What ? I thought you liked these things"

"I do but I'm really not in the party mood right now"

"Yeah, if you want out just tell me I'll drop you off whenever you want"

"You're going too ?"

"First of all I would never say no to a party and second, she is my cousin after all"

"Right"

"But really I'll drop you off wether it's an hour in or five"

"Thanks, I'll get going then before your sister kidnaps me"

"Good luck" I went to destinys room and sat on her bed watching her do her make up

"Okay so I hung up a few dresses that you need to try on over there, I personally think the green one is gonna be it cause your red hair with the green dress is just beautiful" I didn't really argue with her and just tried the dresses on, a little distraction for sure couldn't hurt anyone right ?

We got ready together alongside a lot of singing and talking before her parents called us downstairs

"Woah you look good"

"Ew stop flirting with my best friend" Destiny pushed me past her brother keeping a hand on my back to push me forward

"You're just jealous she likes me more than you"

"You wish" I looked at my phone letting the two siblings argue, it had become a habit that I looked at my phone all the time hoping for a message from Walker "no phone for you the entire evening, you need to stop"

"Destiny" she put my phone into her purse and went outside

"He's an asshole you're not doing that even if he comes back"

"He's not like that"

"There's a difference between him not being like that and you wishing he wasn't like that" I was quiet, I felt so betrayed yet I didn't want to entirely confess it to myself because he was so good to me

I felt so comfortable with him and he genuinely cared so much about me and I couldn't forget the way he cared when I hurt my eye and the kiss...

"So what happened to your eye ?"

"Flynn" Destiny hushed her brother who lifted his hands

"Sorry"

"Just tripped and fell"

"For me ?"

"Of course" I hit his arm playfully as we got into the car, Flynn had a crazy flirty personality, he always had and it was so fun to talk to him

"These are a lot of people" I said as we entered the backyard

"I told you it's a big thing" Des said looking around for her cousin "Look Eliza's there" we went and congratulated her giving her our gift before taking some food

Cole joined us just a little after that and the two of us mostly hung around behind Destiny while she talked to her relatives

The distraction didn't work at all tough, my mind kept circling back to Walker even worse than before and I didn't enjoy the party at all

"Im going to the bathroom I'll be right back" I excused myself from Destiny making my way inside to find the bathroom, I just sat there for a bit just to distance myself from the loud noises and music for a second

This was so stupid, we weren't even dating and I was missing him so much, it was probably nothing to him

I really tried to stick around until the end but I got a terrible headache from the music mixing with my thoughts and I was tired and exhausted and really just wanted to go home

I looked around seeing that Cole made some friends there and Destiny was talking to Eliza and her friends around there too

I looked around trying to find Flynn, I really didn't mean to disturb him here but I needed to get out of here, I was slowly starting to feel like I was suffocating in there

"Looking for someone red ?" I turned around seeing Flynn pop up behind me and place a hand on my shoulder "hey are you okay ?"

"I need to get out here Flynn" his playful grin dropped into a worried expression in seconds and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder

"Yeah let's get out of here"

"Where are you going ?" Destiny came up in front of us looking from one to another "What's going on here"

"I'm taking Mel home"

"What ? Get away I'll take her home"

"Can you drive a car ?"

"I'll get her home don't worry about it"

"Come on Des don't do this now"

"I'm not doing anything, why do you always have to ruin my friendships"

"Des please just let Flynn take me home" she looked from her brother to me "please"

"Are you okay ? Do you want me to come with you ?"

"No it's fine, you're having fun here stay" she looked like she thought about it for a second before letting it go and nodding

"Are you sure ?"

"Yeah"

"Okay, Text me when you get home" I nodded letting Flynn lead me outside, making a quick stop at his parents to get the car keys before getting to the car

"Are you sure you're okay Mel ?"

"I don't know" I closed the car door and leaned my head back closing my eyes, I felt tears burning into my eyes as Flynn started the car
