"SO, your real name is Illumi, huh?" Reaper asked the man now known as Illumi, his cold, dark eyes boring into her form. "I have to say that even that surprised me."

He smirked.

Though, it was emotionless.

She currently sat in a wooden pew in the room they were to be given a briefing after passing the Exam, having not expected for Illumi to sit beside her. It made her ponder what his angle was, but then again, since he was a Zoldyck who worshipped the entity known as Reaper, perhaps he just wanted to figure out why she went by such a name.

"It did?" Illumi tilted his head. "Then... what is your real name?"

"I don't see why you need to know that."

"Now that you know mine, isn't it only natural that I should know yours?"

"I don't believe that is," she hummed, crossing her arms before turning her attention to the front. "As an assassin, was it natural to give your name to the assassinated? Though, that isn't the question which I wanted to ask."

"Then, what is?" Illumi questioned.

"Did you truly mean what you said to Killua?" Reaper uttered in a rather low tone, her eyes somewhat narrowing in distaste. "How a heartless assassin such as he, a part of the proud Zoldyck family, should never want for anything? Should never feel anything except the pleasure from killing others? That he's only a puppet to be used by you?"

Illumi's brow twitched.

She had hit a mark.

"I don't know exactly what is going on with your family, or the rules that you must abide from, however, nobody should be manipulated into doing something they'd rather not do," she continued with an ever darkening aura. "Especially from someone close to them."

"I don't see how any of that concerns you," he responded blankly.

"It doesn't matter whether or not this concerns me," Reaper spoke calmly, folding her hands under her cloak. "To be manipulated is vile. I'm only commenting on what is true."

The group inside the room shifted with audible mutters when hearing her words save for Hisoka who only smiled. Just as Reaper opened her mouth to speak again, her attention was then drawn to the doors that banged open to reveal Gon practically glowing in anger. He quickly noticed Illumi sitting in the stands, descending the stairs so he could then stand before him. Reaper glanced Gon over, finding him to have the same determination she had admired earlier on set in his eyes.

Reaper, knowing what was going to happen, stood and quietly moved to another seat.

Soon enough, Hisoka was beside her.

"What do you want now, Hisoka?" She hummed, keeping her gaze steady on Gon's and Illumi's figures.

"I merely want to offer you some advice," Hisoka drawled, cupping his cheek with his hand whilst resting his elbow against the desk. "You really shouldn't concern yourself with them. You only need to focus on when our fight is."

Reaper didn't acknowledge his statement, therefore, she missed the way his eyes flickered with a rather dark emotion. Hisoka could tell Reaper couldn't care less about him, as she always told him, and such a fact was starting to become quite irritating to him. It was enough to make him reach out his hand to try and snatch away her hood. Unfortunately, his efforts only amounted in her grabbing his wrist before he could do so, her sharpened nails digging into his skin, something he had to suppress a moan to.

"Whatever you were about to do... don't do it again," Reaper asserted in a chilling dialogue.

"Can I not be friendly with those whose power I adore?" He questioned, looking down at her with that smirk of his. "Is it so bad to want to get to know you better? Reaper, you can't seriously think you can hide your identity forever, can you?"

"For as long as I live," she declared, her (E/C) eyes meeting his under the shadow of her hood, something that took his breath away.

She then released him.

"Ah, Reaper... always so full of surprises," Hisoka chuckled as he rolled his wrist around, quirking a brow at the sight of both bruises in the size of a hand and pricks of blood. "I think I'm addicted."

She refused to acknowledge his statement once again, instead turning her gaze down to where Gon and Illumi were conversing. By then, Illumi had stood up, though that was mainly due to Gon forcibly grabbing his wrist and yanking him upwards, seeming to squeeze the limb so hard it looked to be breaking. By then, Netero stepped forwards to ease Gon's anger, Kurapika and Leorio doing the same—more so, to lodge complaints about Killua's disqualification.

Eventually, everything wound down after Netero cleared the air and forced everyone to settle down, allowing Beans to continue the orientation.

Reaper raised her head.

Staring down at her Hunter's License, her eyes caressing the familiar double X symbol, she pondered over what she should do next. Considering she had access to most everything now, she pondered if she should take up missions just because she knew she would finish them. She was always up for a challenge whenever the ache of boredom creeped in, and something within her spurred her onwards to be a Hunter. Naturally, she should do what Hunters did.

After orientation, she decided to retire back to her room since she had no more business with anyone there. The tiled floor of her room sparkled with her reflection clearly seen in the surface, mostly due to the sunlight that filtered in through the stainless windows above. Then, there were the marble columns that rose to catch the ceiling, making her feel as if she were more in a castle than a hotel. Locking the door behind her, she discarded her clothes to take a quick shower, avoiding the mirror whilst doing so, before throwing herself onto the rather plush bed.

This certainly is comfortable.

I guess it was worth it to become a Hunter.

Closing her eyes, she drifted off to sleep. It wasn't long before a deep slumber took over her, the hours passing until the sun slowly dipped below the clouds, bringing with it the rise of the moon and the stars from the other side.

She was content.
