REAPER exited the Zoldyck estate after finding the Testing Gates again, thinking back to what she had said to Hisoka.

It was true.

She didn't care about him.

She didn't care about a lot of things, really.

However, there was one thing she did care about: the need for excitement. She realized that this was what she gave to Hisoka, but he couldn't provide the same to her. It was why she felt no desire to fight him anymore after realizing how weak he truly was in comparison to herself. After living for so long, the concept had become tedious, boring even. Therefore, she was stuck wandering the earth in search of worthy entertainment, the very reason why she was now exploring Padokea's bustling cities. More so, in one of the larger marketplaces, a sign above a modern-looking building caught her eye.

'Sunday Night Fights?'

A fighting ring?

Maybe that could be interesting.

Hisoka and Illumi, having been following her the entire time, stopped beside her.

"Are you really interested in such... easy wins?" Hisoka taunted her, even if her interest in the place irritated him.

"No," she answered, glancing up at the smirking man. "But who knows? There might be someone here worth my time."

Hisoka's grin dropped as he watched Reaper enter the building, a rare smile presented on Illumi's pale lips as he followed her in. Grumbling to himself, Hisoka threw open the wooden doors as well, shouts and screams of torture immediately washing through his ears. Picking the Reaper's familiar, dark figure out of the crowd, he moved to stand beside her, crossing his arms in a silent sulk.

"Why are you interested in such boring fights?" He drawled, showcasing his disdain for the situation.

"Why are you not?" Reaper questioned.

"Because they are all so... weak."

"Then you should know why I have no interest in fighting you, either," she continued, ignoring his stare that burned through her skull as she kept her gaze focused on the arena. "Besides, you never know the potential one has until you witness it yourself."

Hisoka merely scoffed.

Illumi glanced at the magician from the corner of his eye, but looked away just as quickly, amused.

"There you have it folks!" A greasy man yelled into a microphone that descended from the ceiling, holding up the muscled arm of another. "Airi is the winner of this round! Now, is there anyone brave enough to face the undefeated master?"

Silence lingered throughout the air, no one willing to step up after taking one look at the poor man pummeled to the ground, black and purple bruises blooming over his broken body. Murmurs then rustled through the crowd when Reaper suddenly stepped forward to enter the brightly lit ring—something that surprised both of her companions. Watching as she approached the larger man, both Hisoka and Illumi already knew the outcome of such a match.

"It looks like we have a challenger!" The announcer crowed, shoving the microphone into Reaper's face. "What is your name, newbie?"

"Reaper."

"Reaper, now?" He laughed. "Okay, then! People, people, listen up! Place your bets please and we will proceed with the fight!"

Reaper's eyes shifted around the growing crowd as small screens popped up in front of them, disappearing only when the assigned person had chosen who they thought would win. Turning to her opponent, Airi, a strong man that easily towered above her in height, she could immediately tell that he lacked the fundamentals of basic martial arts, instead only relying on his brute strength to beat others into submission.

"What's wrong, little man?" Airi smirked, folding his arms over his broad chest as he leaned down, having noticed her stare. "You scared? I suggest you back out now before things get too ugly."

"I don't see the need to."

"HA!" He guffawed at her answer before leaning down towards her with a snarl. "Don't think acting cocky will get you anywhere. I'll beat you till you're unrecognizable."

Growling at her like he were a wild animal, something Reaper cocked a brow at, Airi crouched down into a defensive position before shooting himself forward at the signal of the announcer. Imagine his surprise when he found himself swiping at nothing but air, his entire expression loosening into onto of shock. Reaper let out a disappointed sigh as she grabbed him by the throat and harshly slammed him down onto the mat, choking him until his entire face was turning red.

"Oh, wow!" The announced exclaimed, shocked. "Reaper has managed to successfully immobilize Airi! Have the tables turned for our champion?"

Reaper could barely hear the words from the announcer, completely focused on Airi beneath her. Her expression was calm, deadly, focused, yet her mind wasn't completely there. Instead, she was back in the past, reliving painful memories that she had tried time and time again to expunge from the depths of her mind. Unfortunately, such a want couldn't be given.

She then felt the body underneath her own going limp, snapping her from her thoughts.

Removing her hands from around Airi's neck, she pressed her fingers against his throat, feeling for a pulse, somewhat relieved to find one, but not by much. Standing up, ignoring the shocked stares she received from onlookers after they saw her strangle a man twice her size with little to no effort, she descended the stage to collect her winnings. Sweeping past Illumi and Hisoka, she wasn't surprised when they immediately followed after her, their eyes full of intrigue.

"I can feel your stares," Reaper announced, unbothered. "What is it?"

"You seemed... distracted, in the middle of your fight," Illumi spoke thoughtfully, his eyes lidding the longer he stared at her. "You were handling that fighter as if to kill him. Why?"

"Does it matter why?"

"When it concerns you?" Hisoka smirked. "Obviously."

"I was reminded of something," she vaguely stated. "Something that I'm not particularly fond of. I'm not even sure why. I feel as if I'm having a lot of these annoying memories recently. You would be surprised by how often I've tried to... get rid of them."

Silence engulfed the three.

There was something implied within her words that made both mildly surprised—a theme of death.

It made them both wonder:

Does Reaper wish to die?
