WHEN (Y/N) awoke to the smell of something burning, her eyes immediately snapped open at the thought of a fire. Throwing on her cloak and removing the Nen from her bedroom door, she stormed into the next room in a fervent haste. Her mind then went blank upon sight of Hisoka with a frying pan in hand.

"Hisoka...?" She frowned, watching as he turned around to face her, a smirk plastered over his lips. "What the hell are you doing in here?"

"Cooking breakfast," he answered calmly whilst holding out a pan filled with the remains of what looked to be bacon. "I would have woken you up and snuck a delicious peak at what lay underneath your hood, but sadly, you fortified the door with your Nen."

"Be thankful I did," she muttered as she eyed the remnants of what he called 'breakfast.'

Remembering that he had failed the second part of the Hunter's Exam along with her, it made sense that he didn't know how to cook. Letting out a small sigh at his efforts, she took the pan away from him and threw away the charred remains before setting it back on the stove to cool. Turning the dial to shut off the fire still burning hot, she turned towards him with a rather harsh glare.

"Just order take-out if that's how you cook," she stated stoically, sliding on her boots. "No one would eat that even if you force them to."

Hisoka merely grinned as he followed (Y/N) through the Arena before exiting the building out onto the streets, the tall structures eventually receding into homes, stalls, and vendors, each shouting and hoping to gain attention for the items they were selling. Passing along the money (Y/N) earned from fighting at a small food stall, she then handed a plate to Hisoka before taking one for herself.

"Why?" Hisoka began, surprising her with the sudden question.

"What do you mean, 'why?'"

"Why would you go to such extents as to fortification through Nen to hide your identity?" He elaborated when glancing down at her, his golden eyes narrowing slightly in a way the made her wish he would stop being so curious. "Are you really that ugly under the hood?" Grinning, he continued, "I won't judge too badly~."

"I don't wear this because of something as simple as my appearance," she uttered after taking a bit of her food and swallowing. "It's just easier to live if people don't exactly know who you are."

"Maybe for you, but it certainly didn't help my curiosity and patience," he chuckled, partaking in a bite of food as well. "And, I don't think this is particularly working."

"What do you mean?"

"If you must know, you're rather striking and quite easily unforgettable," he hummed in appraisal.
