Affection
CHROLLO had waited for far too long.He had traveled almost everywhere in search of (Y/N), and now that he had found her, he was never going to let her go again. He had already made that mistake once when he had allowed her to leave so long ago without trying to stop her.
Never again, though.
To him, (Y/N) was a constant.
When he had encountered her six years ago when she had saved him from death after a job gone wrong, he didn't like her at first. He was suspicious of the dark cloak that she wore, her changed voice, and her mysterious background. No matter what he did, though, she never lashed out at him nor raised her voice. It was probably why, ever so gradually, something within him shifted that made him smile whenever her saw her or whenever she would tend to his wounds.
He had grown to care for her.
He had grown to love her.
In just a span of a couple of months, he promised himself to (Y/N) forever even when she announced she would soon be moving on after his injuries healed. That was when Chrollo's pure affection for her began to grow so twisted beyond recognition that even when she went out for more than five minutes, he would start panicking. It was especially worse whenever he saw her with someone he didn't know, for he would then try to beat them beyond recognition. He would only be stopped whenever (Y/N) forced him unconscious.
He idolized her.
Yet, she overlooked such emotions as she merely saw them as silly fantasies that would soon shrivel up. But, Chrollo couldn't control himself. And the longer he thought about it, about how (Y/N) had left him, the longer he began to realize that she would never be his unless he forced it.
Breaking himself free from the building that Hisoka had kicked him into, he swiped a finger across his cheek and clicked his tongue in agitation when seeing a smear of blood against his skin. Just as he was about to return back to (Y/N), a bloodthirsty presence behind him made him stop and turn. Kurapika stood there with blazing scarlet eyes, a trait of his clan—the very clan that Chrollo had murdered for those very eyes.
In an instant, he connected the dots.
Kurapika was the chain user that had killed Uvogin to avenge his clan.
Now, he was after him.
Chrollo couldn't help but chuckle at the situation as he stared down at Kurapika who was growing increasingly agitated by his lack of care, completely on edge whilst his nerves buzzed. Chrollo seemed relaxed since, although he could tell Kurapika was quite skilled as a Nen user, he was lacking in power. Dodging and parrying Kurapika's chain, he admitted that Kurapika was well-trained in the proficiency of using them. But it wasn't long before Chrollo was able to incapacitate Kurapika, transporting him unwillingly via teleportation until finally able to trap him in Shadow Beast Owl's cloth that could shrink anything down.
He smirked.
Now, then...
It's time we reconnect, isn't it, (Y/N)?
With his book known as the Bandit's Secret in hand, Chrollo walked back to where he had left (Y/N), Illumi, Hisoka, and the other two boys whom had been with Kurapika. He didn't see the boys as a threat, but he knew that Hisoka and Illumi would pose a challenge since it was clearly obvious that they harbored feelings for the woman to some extent. Just the thought of it was enough to make his teeth grit, but he knew he had to remain calm. The last time he had lost his cool, he had lost (Y/N), a day he had always regretted.
He wouldn't lose her again.
Not to himself, and not to anyone else.
Using the same tactics as he did on Kurapika, he captured all of them within the cloth after teleporting them and disorienting them. Even (Y/N) he kept in the cloth. Despite her trying to escape through her portals, he had caught her before she could do so. Observing her through her dreams and in reality when he had stalked her before revealing himself, he had made sure to take mental notes about her abilities in a way that would allow him to have the upper hand against her.
And it had worked.
Hisoka and Illumi had been too consumed in trying to obtain her attention that they had failed to notice Chrollo before it was too late.
"Oh, (Y/N), (Y/N), (Y/N)..." he hummed, pleased. "See? I told you you'd never be able to escape me."
With that, he rounded up the Phantom Troupe and like ghosts, disappeared from York New City as it burned to the ground. What was more, when Chrollo told them that he had captured the chain user who had killed Uvogin, they were ecstatic, finding no more reason to stay in the city after that. When they were far enough away from the city, Chrollo gave the Troupe a tied-up Kurapika, Gon, and Killua, telling them to do with them as they wished.
He never released Hisoka and Illumi.
As for (Y/N), he finally released her a week after their fight in York New.
"(Y/N)... you must realize that the only reason I stole your Nen was because if I hadn't, you would have used it to leave me," Chrollo said as he stared at her from across the table they sat at, the two currently within an old house on the outskirts of Meteor City, bars over the windows while the front door was locked. "And I cannot have that. Don't you understand?"
"I do not... I don't even know you," she scowled, the chains that connected from her wrists to the floor clattering with each move she made.
"Yes, you do."
"Even if I did know you in the past, after what I saw... after seeing how capable you are at taking lives and ruining others', I don't think I want to know you anymore," (Y/N) exhaled, feeling something gnawing at the corner of her mind that made her all the more want to run away from Chrollo. "No matter who I knew in the past, it doesn't mean anything to me. You do not mean anything to me."
Chrollo stared at her.
Even after a week, she still responds like this.
Pakunoda must have really done a number on her with her Memory Bullets...
How annoying.
After realizing that, Chrollo searched far and wide for a Nen user who also dealt with memories and the like, hoping that once he found someone like that, he would be able to reclaim the memories that (Y/N) had with him. Of course, once he found that person, he made sure that only the good memories were restored, something that made (Y/N) fall back into their normal routine before her death.
She cared for him again.
Kissing her roughly when she looked at him with those (E/C) eyes full of warmth again, Chrollo relished in her affection.
Your love...
Your body and soul...
They're all mine (Y/N), and have always been mine. You can never escape me.
Never.
