HISOKA was pleased.

Very pleased.

After finding (Y/N)—whom he still only knew as Reaper—had disappeared into the night, it didn't take long to figure out where she was heading. After all, not many people could forget such an intimidating presence, least of all the very man she talked to about Heavens Arena. Hisoka found how she tried to run away amusing—more so, he found it quite thrilling as he just loved chasing down his prey again and again. Now, if he were to fight against her in an official match, she couldn't say no.

"Ah, what a coincidence we've run into each other here, Reaper," he smirked, clearly enjoying the situation as it played out.

"Not particularly," she frowned.

"How can you say that when I've searched for you for so long, hm?"

"Then it wasn't a coincidence."

He merely chuckled.

(Y/N)'s brow twitched, watching as Hisoka sauntered towards the receptionist's desk to lean over the counter, one hand propped on his hip. As he conversed with the woman, (Y/N) turned away, about to retreat back to her room until a certain sentence made her half in her tracks.

"Can you tell me the name of that person there?" He hummed. "He has to have registered by his real name, correct? Not an alias?"

"Ah, yes, his name is—" the receptionist cut herself off when noticing the darkening aura of (Y/N). "H-He only goes by his last name, (L/N)."

"Only a last name?" Hisoka mused, his gaze sliding to the corner of his eyes. "That's hardly fair."

"Life isn't always fair," (Y/N) uttered lowly.

"How boring, dear (L/N)."

"Call me what you like."

Hisoka's grin broadened as he followed after (Y/N) down the hall, the woman practically able to feel his stare boring into her skull. In all honesty, she understood his sudden fixation on her: she had power, power her very much wished to understand and challenge. Then, there was the part she didn't understand: why chase after someone instead of chasing a new type of power? Especially if that someone wants nothing to do with him? His rather ceaseless advancements was enough to made her stop and ponder his motives.

"What more do you need from me, Hisoka, for you to chase after me like a dog looking for its owner, hm?" (Y/N) questioned, keeping her eyes forward instead of looking at him.

"I'd gladly be your dog if it meant being able to fight you again," he declared.

"Why am I not surprised?"

"Who can say?"

"Well, from the little time that I've known you, I've deduced that you are a person who seeks power, only, it's not for you per se," she announced, uncaring. "All you want to do is fight that power. You gain pleasure from it."

"Seems like you already know me quite well," Hisoka chuckled, his fingers tracing his chin.

"I'd rather I didn't."

"But you do, and you can't do anything to change that unless you were to kill me, but then again, I've been known to have a hard time keeping dead," he mused with a rather delighted smile teasing at his lips, finding it so funny how he could hardly gain a reaction out of her. "Pray tell... what has made you come to this kind of establishment?"

"I assume the same reason why you are here," she voiced. "To fight."

"Our reasons are a bit different," he proclaimed with a tilt of his head. "For me, I only followed you here so I can fight you, and you alone."

"Should I be flattered?"

"It'd be awfully kind if you were."

"How lucky for me," she let out a slow sigh. "It's good that I'm not that kind."

"Well, I think that's the best part of you," Hisoka grinned, his eagerness to spill her blood so obviously prevalent on his face from the way his pale cheeks flushed, his excitement and arousement only growing. "Not many people are as entertaining as you are. Your value has only increased the longer I spend time with you, so I do hope you'll allow me to kill you before you become trash to me."

"We shall see."

Hisoka's eyes flickered from her vague answer, his gaze then sliding her cloaked form to where he could see her bandaged hands, his mind throwing him back to that day in the airship where he had overheard her and Illumi's conversation, wondering if the bandages extended to the rest of her body. If he had any integrity, he would keep his thoughts to himself, however, he was a curious being.

He had to ask.

"How disgusting are you underneath those?" He began whilst nodding towards her covered, scar riddled flesh. "Hm? What happened for you to become... what was it you said to Illumi? So scarred, right? Least you can do for me considering I came all this way here for you."

"That's hardly a reason to tell you," she shook her head. "Why do you even care?"

"I don't," he responded shortly.

"Then why ask?"

"Well... when someone looks at another, they never know what they've gone through," he proclaimed, stopping her by sidling in front of her. "However, when looking at you, I can see you've been through Hell—maybe even worse. It makes you that much more interesting to me."

"Mine is a story that isn't interesting nor exciting," (Y/N) lifted her head to look up at him, a small smile gracing her lips that he saw even through the shadow of her hood, his expression of ease momentarily dropping from how surprised he was to see such things. "I'm sure it will only bore you. I'm also not too interested in digging up such old memories."

"Well, that is certainly something I can agree with," Hisoka chuckled, his smirk returning. "I'll find out what you're hiding soon enough though, (L/N). I can assure you of that. Besides..." Licking his lips in a lustful manner, his eyes narrowing, he continued, "...it won't be long until you'll have to fight me."

A small chuckle left (Y/N)'s lips.

It was a sound neither of the two expected to hear, but then again, she didn't entirely mind.

Hisoka was certainly unyielding.

It was somewhat bemusing to her, in a sense.

"Try and become stronger to interest me, Hisoka," (Y/N) continued as she turned her back to him, finally reaching her room that she quickly unlocked. "Maybe then I will amuse you with that fight you're looking for."

Hisoka's eyes flashed.

"Certainly... (L/N)," he laughed, watching as she disappeared into her room.
