"Don't shout, Lily. It's me," I look into her terrified eyes and watch as she calms down and squints at me. "I am going to remove my hand and you're not going to scream. Okay?"
She frowns, confused and cautious. Probably wondering what I'm doing at her bedroom so late at night. Lurking in the dark like a creep. Truth is, after texting her I couldn't control myself from wanting to see her. I tried but it lasted with me robotically moving out of my apartment to the parking lot and taking my car to drive up here. It was almost like I was in a spell and only she could break it.
"Mmmmph," She mumbles and holds my wrist. "Emove it,"
"I will if you promise not to scream," When she nods, I remove my hand from around her mouth and watch her take a breath. The action, making her chest rise and fall below me. I bent my knee and settle a bit comfortable on top of her.
"If this is your way of giving me a heart attack then bravo you almost gave me one," she says, patting her face for sweat that isn't there. Only glow, thanks to the moonlight coming from the window on our left. "What were you thinking? No scratch that what the fuck are doing you here?"
"Am I not welcome here?"
"Not like this. Sneaking up on me, hiding in the shadows like a serial killer,"
I chuckle, "I thought I told you, you were my partner in crime. Not a target,"
"And I have evidence that I denied your stupid invitation," she attempts to get up but I stay rooted on top of her which brings our face closer, "Are you going to move?"
"No," I answer, peering down at her. We hold eyes contact for a few seconds before she lays back down again, moving her face away from me.
"Why are you here Lucas?" Her voice is soft this time.
"I wanted to make sure I didn't hurt you," I say, moving my eyes down her body and stopping at her waist. The cotton shorts she is wearing along with the tank top is a bloody fantasy of mine coming true. A part of her stomach is showing followed by the press of her thigh on the bed. White, milky skin is on display under me, like a temptation.
I trail my eyes back up. "Did I hurt you?"
Her chest dips, "No," she says in a breathy voice. "No, you didn't hurt me,"
I look between her eyes, "I bought ointment," I move my hand to my back pocket, take the bloody excuse out and show her. She reaches for the ointment but at the last second I drop it on the bed causing her hand to stop at my cheek. "Sorry, it slipped," I say leaning to her touch.
Lily sucks a sharp breath, her eyes moving to her hand on my face. "Your excuses knows no boundary, Lucas," I chuckle. "Tell me why you really came here," She asks, then strokes my cheek with her thumb.
I groan inwardly and feel lightheaded to her touch. "I missed you,"
"You missed me?"
I nod, "You do realize we're in a relationship, right? I am allowed to miss you,"
When she laughs, it takes everything in me not to dip my head and kiss her dimples. "How long are you going to pretend this, Lucas? Aren't you tired?"
"We both know none of us are pretending, Lily. I might have been impulsive at the beginning but whatever happened after that wasn't an....act,"
"We both are really different, Lucas,"
"Thank god. You think I can handle a female version of myself?"
She laughs again and something tugs at my heart. "No that would be boring I suppose. You like someone who can get under your skin,"
"And no one gets under my skin the way you do,"
