Everyone woke up around ten in the morning and decided to have breakfast out the patio where they took their time to finally see the beach house in the daylight. The roof is made of white clay tiles that is a good fit for resisting intense summer rays. Stucco siding walls, French door with side lights and arched window that open room to the stunning views of the ocean from inside. The balcony and deck is on the same side at the back where we currently are.
Jackson and Ryan are by the griddle drizzling oil and pouring the pancake batter they found from the pantry. I told Cal to ask the keeper here to restock the groceries and alcohols so beside breakfast, there's Sangria too but Sabina played dirty by making tea for her and Lily.
The alcohol didn't taste well once we smelled the tea leaves and started craving them so Lily made another batch for us. There was a light chatter around the table, plates of pancakes and fruits were passed, sounds of cutlery being used, all adding to a comforting and friendly vibe.
We talked about school for a bit, the upcoming competition that Lily and Sabina are participating in, then we relived some last night memory and how swimming during the night felt actually good compared to daylight swim.
At the end of the breakfast when most of our plates started to look empty, we strike a conversation regarding today's plan. CJ claps his hand pulling our attention, "People, what is the plan for today?"
Ryan turns to me, "Did you make any itinerary?"
"Itinerary?" Sabina glances back and forth between the two of us, "We don't need that. We'll just do what everyone here does. Follow the tradition,"
"Which is what according to you Sabby," Kevin asks, leaning his forearms on the table.
"Hollywood beach, duh. We can cycle, take a stroll, skate and visit different seafood restaurants or tiki bars. God, I want to try a tiki bar,"
"Sab honey, your obsessed with food. We're obsessed with fun and pussy," She flips him a finger, "Why don't we join one of those cruise ships that shows you dolphins or take you for underwater swim?"
"You wanna try scuba diving?" Lily asks, the excitement threatening to bounce her legs under the table.
CJ and Ryan shook their head in consideration.
"Sounds good. After that we can try one of those tiki bars," Jackson suggest earning a big smile from Sabina.
"Ugh, couples," CJ rolls his eyes earning a collective laugh from all of us but it quickly dies when Ryan accidentally calls me Luke and startles both Lily and me.
The chattering continues around the table that helps cut the tension but whatever expression is planted on Lily's face makes me sweat. Ryan realizes late his slip of tongue and stares at me like a deer caught in the headlights. Whereas I am internally freaking out.
Lily looks back and forth between the two of us with a frown on her lips, then points her thumb at me, "Did you just call him Luke?"
Ryan looks at me in alarm and I conceal the deadly glare I am throwing at him behind my composure. "What?"
"Did you call him Luke?" she repeats and I swear my heart is badly galloping inside like a bomb, ready to explode.
"Uh," He swallows, then laughs awkwardly and scratch his brow. "I didn't call him Luke, Lily. What I was about to call him was Luke..." He pauses to think of a word and I lift a brow in warning when he says, "warm,"
"What?" She looks again at the both of us. "Lukewarm?"
What the fuck is he doing? Lukewarm? "Yeah, it's...sort of like a nickname that the boys gave him at the locker room since he always prefers to shower in lukewarm water. Even when it's freezing cold so," he laughs nervously,
