Where is she? All girls from our senior year and junior Jesus Christ have gathered in the cafeteria. I don't consider younger ones but they always show up for this thing. Everyone eager to be my girlfriend but the girl I want next to me isn't here.
I told Nancy to bring her here. Maybe I should've gone with someone tougher. Lily unlike her name could be pretty stubborn. She is soft to a minimal amount, that side of her comes when she's alone with people because pretty sure I haven't seen being soft in the school. What am I saying? I never saw her before until the very beginning of this year and now all I could think about is her.
Lily and her smile.
Lily and her smell.
Lily on my bike. Holding me with her delicate hands.
Lily, Lily and Lily. Fuck I've gone mad over a girl.
"I don't think she'll come," Ryan says next to me. We're both sitting on cafeteria table like some sort of king while everyone is standing. "She never does,"
"You've kept record of her,"
"No. That's CJ's job. He remembers every girl's face that comes for your yearly girlfriend pick event," he laughs, "Event,"
"Shut up,"
"You know it's true. Look at the crowd, dude. It's more than what showed at the Halloween last year," he points to overcrowded cafeteria. The room is the size of a ballroom yet for some reason with all the girls and students, it looks small.
"So much crowd but who I want isn't here," I mumble.
CJ pats my shoulder with an amusing grin, "When will you pick? Almost all the girls from our senior year is present,"
"I am waiting for someone,"
"Oh you already got your eyes on a target,"
"Yep. When she's shows I will begin,"
CJ and Ryan exchanges a look behind me, "You know," comes from one of them. "If she's not here then it's clear she's not coming,"
I clench my jaw, "She is coming. I've sent someone to bring her here,"
They laugh, "You did what?" Ryan says through his laugh and suddenly my fingers are itching top punch him. "Why the fuck would you do that?"
"Because I want her,"
"Only her?" CJ asks,
"Yes,"
"Dude," comes from Ryan as he nudges me on my arm, "I think that's her," he tells me nodding toward the main door on the right.
I whisk my head to the direction, excitement flooding inside me at the prospect that she is here. She finally made it. The sight of her by the door creates a giddy feeling inside me. I immediately jump on my foot, the cafeteria going silent at the movement.
I can hear whispers and excitement squeals in the room but none of it matters. They're a worthless noise in the background for my attention is on someone else.
Lily doesn't step inside the cafeteria. Her arms are crossed defensively in front of her like this part of the school crowd disgusts her, there's a frown on her lips and eyebrows, silent eyes judging everyone inside the room. There is not an iota in her that says she is liking this gathering or being here.
But none of that matter. The prestigious Miss Goldberg who thinks she is above everyone else at the school but turns to a soft gentle girl at night is going to see what happens when you get noticed by me.
The guy she never met but choose to have opinion nonetheless.
I make my move and the room erupts in loud squeals. I train my eyes on her and feel my friends behind me, not moving just sticking close like a herd. When Ryan raises his fist as a signal, people starts making path for me.
