CHAPTER 3: "The Prophecy"

We landed on a soft plot of grass.

"Are you okay?" Marta aked

"Yes, you?"

"Apart from my dress is dirty, I'm fine." she said.

We got up dusted our dresses off and looked around. We where standing in the middle of a dark forest. As our eyes ajusted to the darkness we could see the trees where huge nearly 40 feet tall and 30 feet around.

"I don't like it here." I said.

"Me either. Let's see if we can find our way out."

We started to walk but it seemed like the more we walked the darker it became.

Suddenly, we heard a noise behind us. We turned but saw nothing. Then it came again. We moved closer to each other.

A loud thud came from behind us. We jumped and turned.

Standing there was a huge spider. Then two more appeared on either side. And thew the spider's legs came these strange looking creatures. Some had warts all over them and some were deformed. They had an evil look in their eyes and an evil smile on their faces. But I could tell they were strong.

"That's them, get them!" yelled one of them.

"Run, Katie!" Marta yelled and pulled me along.

We tried to run fast but running through a forest full of sticks and rocks in heels and dresses was hard in its self. We both tripped many times.

"Look a cave!" I yelled.

We ran into the cave. The spiders went right by us but the creatures saw us. One pericular with a sword came into the cave.

"This is too easy. You two are coming with us whether you like it." said the creature.

An arrow came threw the creature, right threw the chest. The creature fell at our feet.

"It's ok you are safe." Came soft male voice.

Marta slowly let go of my arm and went out.

I was little apprehensive.

"That's one, where is the other?" Another male voice said. A light came in threw the darkness.

There was a handsome creature. He had brown hair and brown milk chocolate eyes and dressed in brown leather clothes.

"It's ok my lady you are safe." He smiled and reach out his hand. I smiled and took it.

The creature led me outside. Marta was with another handsome creature. He had blond hair and piercing blue eyes.

"Thank you for saving us." Marta said.

"Your welcome. I am Legolas Greenleaf an elf. And this is Kili a dwarf from the blue mountains. Kili bowed.and we giggled.

"And your names?" Kili said.

"I'm Marta and this is my friend Katie."

"Come we will take you to a safe place." Legolas said.

We followed but where a few steps behind them.

"Katie an elf. He's so handsome. I never thought I would find an attractive elf ."

"I know all the dwaves i've ever heard of are hairy and fat Kili and is not. He's so hot."

We chuckled.

Legolas and Kili looked behind at us. We just smiled. They smiled shook their heads and turned back.

We soon came to a huge tree but closer look it was a house.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"This is my home. I am a prince." Legolas said. I looked at Marta. Her eyes got bigger. Nothing is better then meting a prince.

"Come." said sweetly.

Marta followed but I saw Kili by a tree. I walked over to him.

"Aren't you coming?". I said.

"No elves are not to faund of dwarfs." He said.

"It's a little cold out here." I said.

He smiled.

"You can stay we can keep each other warm you legs must be cold." He winked.

"Come on Katie." I followed them inside.

The home was beautiful the trees where soft and looked like gold. Legolas brought us to another elf sitting on a throne.

"Katie Marta, meet my father Thranduil." Said Legolas.
"Who do we have here, my son?" Said Thranduil.
"Master Kili and I found being chased by orcs. We heard them say they are special." Said Legolas.

Thranduil looked at us.

"The prophecy." He whispered.

Marta and I looked at each other.

"Father?" Legolas asked.

"It's an old one...let me look, I have read about it in an old book."

He left the room and he appeared the next five minutes with an old book in his hands.

"When all the stars are aligned, the pearl will be your sign. True love can break it all but be careful, don't let it fall. Wait until the dawn when the war is won. To break the spell, a true love kiss must have been well."

"...there is a pearl, it will help you, my dears to get back home." Said Thranduil.

"Where is it?" Marta asked.

"In Isengard." Said.

"I can asked Mater Kili, I'm sure he would not mind accompany you". Said Legolas.

Marta and I looked at each other.

"Thank you. We would like to go home." Marta said.

"It's settled. But firt you will eat." Said Thranduil.

The Elves gave us some nice clothes. Marta had a silver long dress and I got a sea green dress.

The meal was wonderful. Fish with lemon juice and then some mushrooms and fruit.

After I finshed it, I walked to a window. I saw Kili with a fire in front of him.

"He will be ok." I tunred to see Legolas.

"How do you know?"

"He's a dwarf and they are used to the cold." I lighty smiled. I then heard a giggled.

"Marta is popular." I said.

Marta was talking to another elf. He had blond hair and eyes like emeralds, handsome as well.

"Who is she talking to?" I said to Legolas.

"Celahir, excuse me." Legolas left.

I looked back down. Kili looked up and waved. I waved too.

It was soon time for bed. We both slept very well. Early the next morning we got some traveling clothes. Thranduil gave us some advice:

"Go on the less travel roads and stay off roads at night. It's also best if you go by different names. Marta you elf name is Ireth and Katie yours is Tári."

"Thank you."We said at the same time.

Legolas said goodbye to his father and we headed off.
