CHAPTER 7: "The River"

Marta was hurted I was scared she would not make it.

"Legolas is she going to be okay?" I asked

"Yes. I just need something. Kili, you and Katie go into the forest and find some Athelas. You know remember what that is, right?" asked Legolas to Kili.

Kili nodded and we were off.

"Kili wait..." I took his arm. "...Marta told me about what you said to the troll." I smiled. "I wish I could have been there and seen it. Not may people would have done that." I kissed his cheek. "Thank you." He stroked my cheek and smiled.

"Your welcome" he said.

We smiled.Then I saw some sort of white plant.

"Is that it?" I asked him.

"Yes" he said.

He bent down took out his sword and cut some.

"Come on" he said.

We hurried back. Kili gave the Athelas to Legolas. Legolas took it in his hand and crushed them into little tiny pieces. I took Kili's hand and he held mine back. Legolas then started to speak in Elvish and put the Athelasl in Marta's cut. After what seemed like forever Marta's cut was healed. Legolas knelt down by her.

"You will be ok Marta. I promise you won't feel that kind of pain ever again" They smiled.

Kili elbowed me. I looked at him. We both knew Marta was started to fall in love with Legolas.

"Just hug her!" Kili shouted. I lightly pushed him. Legolas and Marta smiled and they hugged.

We had some left over fish for dinner.

"These are the brightest stars I ever seen" Kili said.

"Where do you live Kili?" Marta asked.

"I live in the Blue Mountains. Most dwarfs don't usually leave the safety of he mountain. But I have seen a star shower. It was like a million diamonds fall down to the earth" he said.

"Well, we should get some rest we are heading to Minth Tirth" said Legolas.

"Minth Tirth?" Marta asked.

"I know someone who can help us" said Legolas.

"I'll stay up with you Kili" I said to Kili.

"Okay but just a little bit" said Kili.

I looked back up at the stars.

"I've never seen a star shower. Is it pretty?" I asked him.

"It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Until now" he said.

A huge smile came to my face. He was trying and it was so sweet.

"Well, um you will okay if I got to bed?" I asked him.

"Yea go ahead." He smiled.

"Good night" I said

"Sweet dreams".

Earlier the next morning, I woke up to the sun peaking threw. Kili was up and swinging his sword around. I got up and walked over to him.

"You are good" I said to him.

He turned and smiled.

"You could be too" he said.

"No way!"I said to him while I was laughing.

He pointed his sword at me.

"Pull out your sword missy" he said. I smiled.

"Alright Sir." I pulled out my sword.

"Okay, if I go like this." He put his sword above me. "You put yours on under it. The goal is block a sword." He said. I nodded.

"What's going on?" said Legolas.

We saw Marta and Legolas coming over.

"I'm just showing Katie how to sword fight" said Kili.

"That's good idea." Legolas took out his daggers. "Come on Marta" he said.

"No no" said Marta. She was nervous.

"Oh, come on!!" Kili and I both said.

"You two are horrible!" Kili and I said. We laughed.

"Okay, I will try" she said. Marta did really well.

"Okay, come on. Show us what you humans can do" Legolas said it with a smile.

Marta and I looked at each other and smiled, we ran towards Legolas and Kili.

The guys laughed and ran. We ran after them. They hit a tree.

"Do you give up?" Marta asked.

"Yes, we do." Legolas said.

We put the swords down and they grabbed us and we fell on the ground. We all were laughing.

"Okay" Legolas said and he helped Marta up. "We better get going"

Kili helped me up.

Marta and I got in the boats and the guys pushed them in and towards to row.

We rowed for few hours stopping to eat and set off again.

I noticed Legolas was looking around. He stopped the boat and Kili pulled up beside.

"What do you hear?" said Kili.

"I'm not sure but something is not right" he said."Come on, let keep going".

As we came to a log an orc jumped on it.

"GET DOWN!" Legolas yelled.

I ducked my head and heard nothing but arrows being shot. Then suddenly, I was in the water. I felt a hand pull me to the surface. It was Marta. We swam to the shore.

"Are you okay?" Marta asked.

"Yes, you?"

"Yes" I said.

"What happened?" she asked.

"I think the boats tipped due to the movement" I said.

Just then someone grabbed us and tossed us other their shoulders.

"Drop them!" said Kili.

The orc turned around.

"What did you say dwarf scum?" said the orc.

"I said drop them!" Kili look like he was ready to kill the orc. I have to say I was a little turned on.

"Why do you think I would do that? My Master wants them" said the orc.

"They are not who you are looking for" said Kili.

"Really and who are they?" said the orc.

"Smell them. They stink. They have to be Lake town humans" said Kili.

Lucky we did have a smell to us.

"So what are you doing with them?"

"Bringing them to Osgiliath."

"That" An arrow when threw his chest and Marta and I fell.

"Good job Kili. Come on have to hurry if we wanna get there by tomorrow" said Legolas. Kili took off my wet on and put his around me.

"Thank you" I said.

He smiled.

That night we rested.

"Legolas...that person we are going to see, who is he?" Marta asked.

"His name is Aragorn, King of Minas Tirith" he said-

"A king?" I asked. I was a little nervous.
