CHAPTER 19: "The Balrog"

There were shouting and people running around. Some trees were burned. We stood there. There was fire in the sky. Legolas then grabbed Marta's hand. He looked so scared.

Suddenly, we saw a a very big monstrous creature taller than the trees. The creature was black with fire inside and it had horns. It was wearing a a fire whip.

"What is it?" Marta asked.

"A balrog" Kili said. I grabbed Kili's arm.

Suddenly, Thranduil appeared. He gave us our swords. There were some orcs. Legolas, Marta, Kili and I started to fight. We saw Gandalf fighting with Saruman. An orc appeared behind Marta's back but Kili could kill it. Legolas made an expression with his head like saying "Thank you".

Suddenly, we heard Saruman screaming. The balrog ran away and the orcs did it too. Saruman, as a powerful wizard, disappeared. There were injured people. We helped them and we came into the caverns, in the Woodland Realm in Thranduil's home.

"Legolas, are you okay?"Marta asked when we got there.

"I'm fine doing worry" Legolas said.

"I am worried you are shaking" She put her hands on his arms.

"I will be fine" He kissed her head and he and Kili went towards Thranduil. Marta sat down by me.

"They will be okay" I said. Marta put her head on my shoulder.

After a long time Legolas came back Marta ran into his arms.

"Where's Kili?" My heart started to race.

"He's fine he just saying hi to someone. Come I want you girls to meet some people" Legolas said.

With the elves, there were some humans. Legolas introduced us to Faramir and his wife Ewyon and Ewyon's brother Eomer. Eomer was handsome long shaggy blond hair.

"My ladies" he said bowing. With them, were Gandalf and an elf.

"I'm afraid they have not presented us well. I know who you are. I have been looking after you in the other world" Gandald said with a smile.

"Thank you" Marta said.

"This is Elrond. He is Arwen's dad" Legolas said.

"Mae govannen.Vanimle sila tiri" Elrond said with a bow.

"What did you say?" I asked him.

"Hello. Your beauty shines bright" Elrond said.

"Thank you" we said at the same time.

Then, Legolas took Marta where Aragorn and Arwen were. I looked around hoping to see Kili.

"May I escort you Miss Katie?" Eomer said.

"Um..." I then saw Kili with talking to an elf. She had red hair and she was really pretty. "Yes, you may" I said. I looped my arm in his and we went in. King Thranduil stood up.

"I want to thank Rohan and Gondor for helping us. But we are not safe yet. Saruman brought that Bolrog here to get something that he really needed. He stole my old spell book. I don't know why he needs it" Thranduil said. He looked worried. He went where Legolas was and talked to him about the spell book. Marta was talking with Arwen.

As we ate I could hear Kili and the elf talking.

"You are a good warrior for a cute elf" Kili said.

"Eomer, who is that?" I asked him.

"That is Tauriel she is a wood elf but a good fighter" said Eomer.

Kili was smiling at her the way he smiled at me when we firts met. I felt tears in my eyes.

"Excuse me" I said. I went out on the balcony. The moon was shining bright and that's what made me start to really cry.

"Katie?"Marta asked. I turned to see Marta and Legolas.

"What's wrong Katie?" Legolas asked. I just pointed at Kili and Tauriel who where laughing.

"Aw Katie don't worry they are just talking." Marta said and gave me a cloth to dry my eyes.

"Is everything alright?" Eomer said coming over.

"Yes" I said.

"Katie would you like to dance?" Eomer asked me. I nodded.

We walked past Kili and Tauriel. I saw Kili was looking at us but I pretended not to have seen him. It was nice but I wish I was with Kili. I was the last one up just sitting outside thinking about Kili. It was cold and I missed his warmth. I then soft laughing. I followed it to the pantry. Kili was with Tauriel and they were holding hands.

The tears started to come again. I was such a fool to think someone could love me. Without thinking I ran. Ran out of the caverns and deep into the woods.
