CHAPTER 23: "Rivendell"

We arrived to Rivendell at sunset. The sun's rays pierced the leaves of the trees leaving a bright golden color. We could finally see Lord Elrond's house. Rivendell is a place taken from a fairy tale where the water is clear and the air is warm. There are a lot of waterfalls and a big bridge crossing to the big house, where Lord Elrond lives.

We crossed the bridge and in the distance we could see fourteen figures. Two of them were Lindir and Lord Elrond; the other twelve were dwarves. Between them, we saw two familiar faces, Thorin and Fili. We got off the horse and Elrond and Lindir came towards us.

"We are glad to see you again" Elrond said looking at all of us.

"Thank you for everything, Lord Elrond" Legolas said and he made a bow.

"We were about to send some guards. We thought something happened" Lindir said.

"In fact, something happened"Kili said. Elrond was terrified looking at Kili.

"What happened?" Elrond asked.

"We stopped in Bree to eat and sleep a little and a wraith found us" Kili said.

"I could distract him" Gandalf said. "Good thing it was only one"Gandalf said.

Kili introduced us the other dwarves. He started with Balin, the only dwarf who had white hair. Dwalin who was Balin's brother, who was bald and he was wearing an ax. I think he was the tallest dwarf. Bofur who was weraing a hat and two braids on every side of his head. He had a brother; Bifur who had a long dark white beard and their cousin Bombur. Bombur was the fattest one but he looked so cheerful. He had red hair. Oin had a white long beard with two braids he was deaf in one ear.

Ori who had read hair and he was wearing an old diary with him. I think Ori was the smallest one.

Dori had white short beard and he looked so old; not old as Balin but he was old. Nori had dark brown hair and he had on his beard three braids. Gloin was the last one. He had read hair and a long beard, he was wearing an ax. He said he had a son named Gimli and he will meet us later. Gloin said that Gimli was Legolas' best friend.

I wasn't sure if I could remember all dwarves' names but Kili reassured me it would be okay.

Lindir showed us the way to a bathroom. The bathroom was made of marble and there was kind of a bath and a waterfall was falling into it. There was not a roof so we could see the sky and the stars.

Marta and I washed up and then we came to join them all for dinner. Marta was still mad at Legolas so she sat next to Thorin and me. She didn't even look at him but he looked at her.

We had some chicken and chips and a lot of sald. There were some fruit too. The meal was nice and so was the night. Balin was telling us stories from Middle Earth as old as him. Bombur was eating and Fili and Kili were making a drinking game. Ori was writing on his diary what was happening there. I think he really wanted to remember that moment.

The moon was bright and there were lanterns hanging from the buildings and trees. I decided to take a little walk. Soon, I came into a little gazebo.

"Are you thinking of run away again?" Kili said. I looked to see Kili, he was lending on a post. I smiled.

"No, i'm right where I need to be" I said. He came over to me.

"Katie, did I do anything with you the other night?" he asked me. There it was. I was hoping he wouldn't ask. I was embarrassed.

"Not really but you kind in imply it" I said.

"I'm not surprised that is typical in me. I'm sorry. I know you are a little touchy on that subject" Kili said.

"It's not that I don't want to it just" I said.

"The time has not come" he said. I nodded.

"I will let you know" I said. And then, he took my hands.

"And I will wait for you" he said. We kissed.

Later, he escorted me to where Marta and I sleep together.

"Goodnight my princess" he said.

"Goodnight" I said and we kissed.

I opened the door and I saw Marta. She was on the balcony. I went towards where she was. The moon was so bright.

"You didn't look at him" I said to her.

"I know" she said.

"Sooner or later you both have to talk" I said.

"I hope never" she said and she turned around and went to her bed. She was so angry.

I closed the doors and I went to my bed. A smile ran across my face as I drifted off to sleep. The next thing I remembered was Marta saying my name. A pain from my back came. My eyes opened. I was no along in Rivendell. We were in a dark dank room. I tried to move but my hands were chained to the wall. Marta was chained as well.
