Chapter 38: "Doubts"

Kili placed his hand on my belly and rubbed. I turned to look at him. I knew he was trying to distracting me from what was going on, trying to make me feel less stress.

But as much as I love him I was worry for Marta. Where was she? Why would she just leave like that? I'm sure I was not as worried as Legolas.

"You know Katie giving birth to a baby dwarf is not an easy thing. For me with she gave birth to Kili I hear it took 49 hours for him to come out. Probably because of his big head."Fili said laughing. Kili threw a rock at his side.

"Ow." He said rubbing his side.

"She's not giving birth to a dwarf its half dwarf. And he will not have a big head."

"How do you know it will be a boy?" I asked. "The chances of a girl are pretty good too."

"The chance of boy is more because there are a lot of boys in our family." Fili said and poked the fire.

"Either way they will be beautiful like you." He whispered in my ear and bent down to kiss my belly and pulled me to lie down. "Come lay down amrâlimê you need sleep."

Arguing with Kili was trying to get a rock to float. Won't work so I lay by him and he covered me with a blanket.
As I drifted off I thought of Marta was she ok?  After a hour or so I woke to fili and kili talking.

"Kili you should you can handle being a farther this is big."

"I know but I'm ready to take this step. I've always wanted someone to pass on my arched skills too and Katie is just wonderful she will be a wonderful mother."

Was I going to be a good mother?  The only time I had kids was when I babysat when I younger. But that was someone else kid. Someone else had to do the punishments, tell them right from wrong. And what if things get worse and Kili has to send me back before the baby is born? How would explain it to my family. I could not raise his child by myself.

I reached over and grabbed his hand hoping he would think I was still asleep. He did and held it to comfort my self.
Early the next day  I woke to Leoglas talking to Kili. I open my eyes and looked around.  They were a few feet away but I could still hear them.
"She's in Mordor?" Kili asked.
"Yes I don't know why . If I did not love her so much I would hate her. What are you going to tell Katie?"
"She can't go not witht baby growing evey day."
"She is coming with us".
"I know just need to think of something".

We were ready to go on her search.
