Maxine leaps out of bed at the thought that Daisy and Jacob would be waiting around for her in the cold. She had agreed to meet them at the airport and grab some breakfast together that morning, so she instantly starts to get ready.

It's a rush so she quickly puts on a brown knitted sweater, which compliments the beige trousers that she throws on. She feels no need to put on makeup as her pale skin matches the weather today perfectly. Deep, brown curtain bangs swoop across her soft skin whilst the rest of her long and wavy hair falls neatly over her shoulders. As she's only woken up not long ago, she applies some mascara to her eyelashes which give her blue eyes some more life behind them. Before she knows it, she's heading out of the door to catch the train to the airport.

Hot air brushes Maxine's face as she enters the underground, this feels soothing against her cold body. It's only a couple of stops, but those stops feel like hours on end of waiting. She can't wait to see Daisy again and the anticipation of it drags out for way longer than she likes. The tube is packed with a variety of people: business men, tourists and women who look like models. Maxine can only admire their beauty, but before she knew it, the train comes to a stop at her destination. She dashes off the train, beaming with excitement to greet Daisy.

A brisk walk down the road leads her to the face she's been waiting to see for months now. They both can't contain their happiness as they sprint towards each other before engaging in a tight hug. Jacob stands there awkwardly before Maxine also pulls him into a quick hug.

"I've missed you so much!" Maxine exclaims with a massive smile on her face.

"I've missed you too! How are you?" Daisy replies. Maxine thinks about the question and hesitantly replies. "Uh I've been okay, not really up to much. How about you?"

"Well, I've finally started properly working as a doctor now! Jacob also got a promotion so he's now wayyy higher up in his company. Actually that is partly why we're here, but we'll fill you in about that later on." Maxine is intrigued but decides to just wait it out. She's happy for Daisy but can't help feel sorry for herself. Everyone seems to be moving up in the world apart from her, and she can't understand why.

After a few minutes of chatting, they all head down the road to a small cafe on the corner of the street to grab some breakfast. They always came to this place, Maxine would sometimes come here on her own when she was missing Daisy. The smell of coffee and baked goods reminded her of Daisy so much.

"So tonight, I think we should go to that new fancy restaurant near yours? What do you think?" Daisy explains whilst devouring a croissant. Maxine had agreed to go out for a dinner with the two of them tonight as they were both busy tomorrow night.

"I mean we can, I don't know how I'll be able to afford it though." Maxine laughs. She's about to suggest somewhere cheaper before Jacob cuts her off.

"It's fine, I'll pay!" He says. Jacob is rich, but he's a nice rich, he's not stingy at all with his money and is very generous which Maxine appreciates. "Thank you so much." She replies with a sweet smile on her face.

After almost an hour of catching up, they finish up their food before heading their separate ways to relax and get ready for tonights meal. Daisy and Jacob go back to their hotel whilst Maxine travels to her flat.
