Gerard insists on walking her back even though it's only a short journey. He locks up his studio before pulling out a cigarette and lighting it. He offers one to Maxine but she doesn't smoke so she politely declines. As they're walking Gerard wraps his left arm around Maxine, making her feel safe and secure. Gerard hums a song as they stroll down the street, Maxine can't work out what song it is but she enjoys his sound filling the silence.

As they approach the Hotel, Gerard asks where her room is and before Maxine can stop him, he begins heading up the stairs. He makes sure that she gets in safely as they say their goodbyes.

"Here take your jacket back." She takes off the leather jacket and holds it out for him. "Keep it!" He says. Maxine looks at him still holding it towards him. "I want you to keep it, you look cute in my clothes!" Once again, Maxine's stomach erupts in butterflies. They aren't even together and she already has his jacket, and he's been non-stop complimenting her. She thinks about inviting him in but decides against it, not wanting to give him the wrong idea as a hotel room can only really mean one thing.

They hug again. "I've enjoyed being with you tonight Max." Gerard says softly.

"Me too." She whispers back at him. "We'll do something again!"

The sun beams straight through the window, waking Maxine up early. She was so exhausted from her flight so she slept peacefully throughout the night. She fell asleep thinking about Gerard of course, but now that she has seen him again it was a lot easier to not stay up all night thinking about him. Still laying in bed, she pulls out her phone to let Daisy know that she'll be ready soon but instead a text from someone else catches her eye.

Gee <3

Good morning beautiful, I hope you have a lovely day with Daisy!  I'll see you soon x

Maxine's lips curl up into a smile at the way how he called her beautiful. She texts him back before messaging Daisy like she initially intended.

She gets out of bed and heads straight for the shower. A brief hair and body wash is all she does, then getting out and putting on one of the hotel robes. Maxine decides to go completely natural, allowing her wavy hair to fall over her shoulders once it's dried. She feels no need for makeup so is ready quickly. She wears the green daisy cardigan which she bought when they both went shopping together in London, paired with some blue jeans and again her brown converse. A plain white top is under the cardigan which matches her small bag.

They decide to meet at the shops in Times Square which means that Maxine has to leave to get the subway there. It's not a long journey but she doesn't want to be late so she leaves promptly, hoping to not get lost on the way there. She exits the hotel and sees a matte black car parked up outside with someone sitting in it. Suddenly Gerard jumps out of the car and opens the door for her.

"What are you doing?" Maxine laughs shyly. "I'll drop you there, it's a bit of a journey all on your own." He says leaning against the door. Maxine gets in the passenger seat, blushing at how sweet he is.

It's roughly a 10 minute drive to where Maxine and Daisy are meeting. Gerard looks so good whilst he's driving, something that Maxine never would have expected to find attractive. They talk about what she's hoping to buy on this shopping trip and Gerard listens intently, driving slightly leant back in his chair with one hand on the wheel and the other changing between the gearstick and Maxine's hair. She melts at his touch once again before she has to get out of the car. Gerard pecks her on the cheek as she thanks him.

"Oooooohhhh!" Maxine hears a familiar voice scream. She waves at Gerard and spots him laughing as he drives off.

"Was that Gerard?!" Daisy screams, Maxine goes red knowing that Daisy just witnessed the exchange between the two of them. "Tell me everything!" Daisy demands.

"I- I don't know, we've just been talking I guess." She replies. "That looks a lot more than just talking." Daisy says cheekily whilst gesturing quotation marks around the 'talking'.

Maxine looks down smiling. "Fine, fine... you know when you went to visit your family, I actually bumped into him that day-" Maxine tells Daisy about what they've been up to. "Last night he showed me around his studio, and we sat upstairs for ages-" She waffles on, talking about how they were close to kissing but nothing happened and how he walked her home.

Daisy giggles the entire time, happy for Maxine that she might have finally found someone that she deserves. "Wait so are you two dating?"

Maxine hesitates. "I don't know what we are to be honest. He's really sweet but I don't think he knows how much I do like him. I want to spend more time with him but I don't even know if that's what he wants..."

"Girl I think the way he just kissed you and couldn't stop looking at you says enough." Daisy laughs. "You have to let him know how you feel! At least before you go back to London."

Sadness washes over Maxine when she realises how little time she has left with him again.
