Gee <3

I'll be back home soon. Get ready cause we're going out tonight x

Maxine receives a text from Gerard whilst he's at work. A few weeks have gone by of them not getting up to much, simply just enjoying having each other around. Gerard has inspired Maxine to start getting back into painting, so they've both just been helping each other with their artwork mostly.

Max

Where are we going?

Gee <3

Dinner ;) xx

Maxine puts her phone down and starts to get ready. She pulls out a navy blue dress which Gerard had bought her. The dress is quite short and skin-tight with long off-the-shoulder sleeves, showing off her body which is a change from the layers of jumpers and cardigans that she usually piles over. She begins on hair, pulling out a curling iron from a drawer in the bedroom. Light waves make her hair shine thoroughly, they fall over her shoulders and she frames her curtain bangs to flick backwards against the sides of her face. She goes for a light makeup look with some mascara and eyeliner, accompanied by a darker lip combo which she has never tried before. Her whole outfit is quite dark, matching Gerard's appearance a lot more instead of her usual pastel colour palette that she always uses.

The front door shuts and Maxine runs into the living room. Gerard stops in his tracks, gazing in awe at her beauty. His eyes dart around her entire body, glancing at every small curve that's on show. His hand extend and he slides them down the sides of her body, keeping them held around her waist. He steps closer to her, locking their eyes together as she looks up at him. Maxine can already feel herself blush before Gerard even says anything.

"Fuck Max... most beautiful girl I've ever seen, my gorgeous girl." He bites his lip as his eyes trace up and down her body again. Maxine feels her knees weaken as he continues to brush his hands around her body. Feeling him do this puts her at ease, her last boyfriend made her feel so insecure in her own skin and she continued to feel like that for years. Gerard is the only person who over time has made her confidence slowly come back.

He quickly runs to grab a black leather jacket which he throws on over a white button up shirt that he's already wearing. He grabs a black belt with a silver bat on it and threads it through his black jeans. Maxine waits for him by the front door and within a couple of minutes they leave.

Gerard pulls out a cigarette and lights it between his lips. He places him arm out and Maxine grabs his hand, interlocking their fingers together. She feels the warmth of the lighter in the palm of his hand. The restaurant that he's taking her to is on the next street, so it's not a long walk. His cigarette lasts pretty much until they get there so he quickly butts it out and throws the end away.

Dim candlelight fills the restaurant, highlighting the neutral tones throughout the room. Brown leather seats accompanied by long dark oak tables sit along the windows. There's a bar at the back wall adjacent to a small stage with a microphone where usually someone would be performing. A waitress comes over and guides the pair to a small round table next to the performance space, Gerard pulls out a chair for Maxine before sitting down and ordering drinks. Maxine gets a red wine whilst Gerard sticks with water.

"Gee this is lovely!" Maxine exclaims, Gerard smiles back at her whilst taking a sip of his water.

They spend most of the night chatting until Maxine suggests something after they finish their food.

"You should go and sing something." She suggests. He looks at her with wide eyes, pretending that he didn't hear what she said. "Go on Gee, you're so good at singing! Please?"

Gerard rolls his eyes sarcastically. "How can I resist when you begged so nicely." He says with a smirk. He gets up and walks over to one of the bar tenders, Maxine has no idea what he says to him but before she can even process, she sees him up on the stage tapping at the microphone.

He takes a few deep breaths before winging it and going a cappella. The entire restaurant turns to him, watching as his soft but coarse voice fills the room. Maxine watches him with wide, glistening eyes and Gerard keeps his eyes locked onto her for the entire song as if he's dedicating it to her. He finishes off his song and is immediately applauded by everyone in the room. "Thank you!" He says quietly into the microphone, looking down to hide his blushing face.

"That was beautiful Gee, did you write it?" She asks him with a massive smile across her face.

"Uh yeah, it's called the world is ugly... it's about you actually." He nervously replies, scratching the back of his neck. Maxine's smile fades into a gaze of pure love and adoration, her face being illuminated by the soft candle lights.

"I wrote most of it that night when we went to my studio and I drew you. You just make my creativity flow sugar!" He explains, cracking a small joke at the end.

"You're so sweet, thank you."
