The week is coming to an end which means that Daisy and Jacob would be going home tomorrow. Since Gerard left, Maxine has been hanging out a lot with Daisy. Jacob has been busy clearing up some other business deals which meant that Maxine and Daisy could have some girly time together. They went shopping on Oxford street and Maxine managed to find some nice clothes that really fit her style. Daisy picked out a khaki green cardigan with daisies along the bottom of it for her, this fit Maxine's style really well whilst also being a sweet reminder of her best friend.

Today is the final day that they were all hanging out together before they left. Maxine knows that she wont see them for possibly months on end so she invites them over to her flat for some last minute quality time together. She prepared some food and snacks this morning and is now just waiting on their arrival.

She still can't stop thinking about Gerard, the vinyl he bought her is a constant reminder of him and she treasures it a lot, even if it hurts. She doesn't quite understand what happened between them but there was definitely something there. He was sweet and even felt safe enough to open up about his past which Maxine really appreciates. But still she doesn't really know? Maybe they're just platonic friends, but who knows because he's miles away now.

A knock at the door startles Maxine as she scrambles up from the sofa to answer it. Daisy and Jacob come in and immediately make themselves at home on the sofa next to the window. Maxine greets them and runs into the kitchen to grab the snacks she had prepared earlier.

They all sit and gossip for a while until Daisy asks Maxine a question unexpectedly.

"Who were you talking to at the exhibition?"

Jacob intervenes quickly "That was Gerard right? He's represented by my company, I basically run a lot of his exhibitions." Maxine hesitates before she replies "Yeah Gerard, he actually gave me some good tips about painting." Choosing to ignore the fact that they spent almost the entire of the next day together.

"Oh, that's nice, you two looked like you were having a really cheeky conversation!" Daisy says whilst raising her eyebrows and nodding her head mockingly. "Like flirting maybe..."

"What no! it wasn't like that- he was just giving me some good advice." Maxine exclaims, even though she knows that there was some sort of sparks flying between them.

Thankfully, Jacob pulls her out of the awkward conversation by asking another question, however it wasn't really the question Maxine wanted.

"Ah that reminds me, what did you think of Richard?" He asks enthusiastically.

"Uhm, he was nice I guess." She shrugs. "I don't know I didn't really get to talk to him much so-"

"Because she was too busy flirting with Gerard!" Daisy cuts Maxine off. She goes red before arguing back "No! I just said it wasn't like that, he was just helping me out alright?"

"Alright, alright!" Daisy laughs.

Awkward silence fills the room until Jacob starts talking about his work again. He's definitely a workaholic, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Eventually the conversation goes back to normal and the girls begin gossiping about people from their high school. Jacob shuts up and let them enjoy their chat. Maxine and Daisy always find a way to talk about people from their school, usually when one of them run into someone that they used to know. Daisy explains how she ran into one of her old classmates and the two girls gossip about her glow up.

Throughout the night they all continue conversations whilst watching some comedy films. But before Daisy and Jacob leave, they say their final goodbyes to Maxine. Daisy pulls her into a long, tight hug before they walk out of the door. Maxine watches as they drive off in an Uber, slowly waving at them before pulling out her phone to text Daisy.

Maxine:

Get home safe, I've really enjoyed having you here and I can't wait to see you again :')
