CHAPTER 12

Younha

San eventually spent the whole weekend with me. It's now Tuesday morning and we're going back to work, for the first time of the year.
I have to admit that I'm still a little anxious about how things will go now that we're actually dating, what if everything changes ? This weekend was so nice, I don't want to lose that.

San : Baby ?
Younha : Huh ? Sorry, I spaced out a little.
San : Stop overthinking this, everything will be fine.
Younha : What if it's not ?
San : We'll figure it out.
Younha : Maybe I should just quit so we don't have to think about that.
San : You sound as dramatic as Wooyoung, and that's so not a compliment. Seriously, stop overthinking it, it will be fun to work together and date.
Younha : Yeah, maybe you're right...
San : Anyway, we should go if we don't want to be late.

We eventually get to the shop, open it up and two minutes later, Hongjoong comes in.

Hongjoong : Well you guys are early today. Is it because it's a new year ?
Younha : Good morning to you too.
Hongjoong : I'm teasing you. How was the weekend ?
Younha : A lot happened.
San : And we actually have something to tell you.
Hongjoong : That's scary, don't tell me you made out again ?
San : Well...
Younha : We're dating.
Hongjoong : As in boyfriend and girlfriend dating ?
Younha : Please don't be mad.
Hongjoong : Why would I be, that's great news, how did it happen ?
Younha : We kissed at midnight and next thing you know...
Hongjoong : Does Hwa know about it ?
Younha : I texted him on Sunday morning.
San : Speaking of him.

Seonghwa comes in, a big smile plastered on his face.

Seonghwa : How are the two lovebirds ?
Younha : You're scary.
Hongjoong : She's extremely right.
Seonghwa : Come on, can't I just be happy ?
San : You can be happy, but don't be creepy.
Seonghwa : Way to start the year.

Our first month together went very well, we spent a lot of time together, in and outside of work, San took me on many great and romantic dates and he's really taking care of me.
And as he assured me, things weren't weird at work and that was such a relief.

Anyway, to celebrate our one month anniversary tonight, he took me to my favorite restaurant and after that, we went a little outside of the city to stargaze.
Around 1am, we came back to my apartment.

San : Did you like tonight ?
Younha : It was incredible Sannie, thank you so much for planning all of that.
San : That's just a tiny bit of what you deserve.
Younha : We're already together, you don't have to say all that anymore.
San : I like saying it.
Younha : And I like hearing it.

He starts kissing me and that kiss quickly turned into a making out session on my couch.
As we keep kissing, he starts bringing me even closer to him, making our waist touch and letting me feel the effect I had on him.

Younha : That was fast.
San : You didn't think I would plan our one month anniversary without this part.
Younha : Take me wherever, that will always be my favorite part.

He takes control of my lips again and things escalate quickly until we're both in our underwear still laying on my couch.
He unhooks my bra and discards it on the floor and as we were about to keep going, someone knocks on the door.

San : Who the hell is knocking at 1 in the morning ?!
Younha : Probably someone drunk or something, just ignore it.

But that person knocks once again.

Younha : That's scary, maybe I should check it out.
San : Ain't no way you're opening that door, I'm going.
Younha : Maybe put on some pants first.

We both get decent and he opens the door.

San : What's wrong with you, who knocks on doors at this time of the night ?
??? : Are you Choi San ?
San : I am.
??? : Isn't this supposed to be your girlfriend's apartment ?
San : As if I was gonna let her open up to some stranger in the middle of the night.
??? : Good call, I was looking for you anyway.

Intrigued by this conversation, I join San.

Younha : What's going on ?
??? : Hello, sorry to be disturbing so late.
San : Whatever, what do you want from me ?
??? : My name is Choi Jongho.
San : So you're my supposed cousin ?
Jongho : You heard about me ?
San : You went to my place a month ago, talked to my roommate and he said he didn't know me but he definitely does.
Jongho : I see, then you know about Hyeonsok.
San : Not really, I just know you said something about him but we didn't exactly catch what it was.
Jongho : He's gonna come for you very soon, and as usual he's planning on killing whoever will be on his way.
San : Woah, back up a second. My brother is alive ?!
Jongho : Of course, you didn't know ?
San : Obviously no !
Jongho : Then I have to back up a lot.
Younha : You'll be more comfortable inside then on the doorstep.
San : What are you doing ?
Younha : You're not gonna leave him outside, it's freezing.
San : How have you not been kidnapped yet ?! We still don't know if we can trust him.
Younha : If anything happens you'll be here to protect me.

His cousin, I guess, laughs at this and San rolls his eyes.
Everyone comes back inside the apartment and onto my couch where I can quickly notice my bra still laying on the floor...
I grab it as fast and discreetly as possible and hides it between two cushions.

Jongho : When your parents got killed, he made you hide in your closet right ?
San : How do you know about all of this ?
Jongho : I'll get there. Anyway, what do you think happened after that ?
San : I heard the gunshot that killed him.
Jongho : Did you see his body anywhere ?

He doesn't answer immediately and takes a second to think.

San : No but I always thought the police took care of it before they found me.
Jongho : That gunshot was actually your brother's. He shot one of the offenders before leaving your house to come to mine, he told my parents everything and that's why I know a lot of details on that day.
San : I didn't even know I had a cousin before a month ago, how could he come to you ?
Jongho : You were too young to know about the rest of your family, so was I at the time.
San : What happened to Hyeonsok ?
Jongho : He stayed with us for a few days then went away. The only news I had from him were the murders he committed.
San : Murders ?!
Jongho : He's the kind of man who never should've touched a gun in his life.
San : And you said he was coming for me ?
Jongho : That's why I tried everything to find you, passing by your address then your girlfriend's. He's dangerous and you need to stay away from him.
San : But my brother is alive, I want to see him.
Jongho : Then you have to find him before he finds you because he would kill anyone you love to get to you.

Hearing that, I tense up a little, I'm part of anyone he loves.

San : Nobody's touching them. Do you know where I should start ?
Jongho : I'm sorry but I don't have any informations about him.
San : It's okay, you already gave me a lot and I need to process everything.

A few minutes later, Jongho left and we agreed on just going to bed since we weren't in the mood for what we were doing earlier.
