It had been years since he last set foot in this place—back when he was just a curious 13-year-old, tagging along with his elders to learn the ropes. Now, he was here with a purpose, and he intended to make sure everything was running smoothly.

As he walked through the hub, Matsu noticed the tension in the air. His unannounced visit had clearly caught the staff off guard. They exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what to expect from the chancellor. Matsu, ever observant, noticed the slight fidgeting and the hurried adjustments of displays and consoles. He smiled, adopting a friendly demeanor as he approached one of the operators.

"So, what does this do?" Matsu asked, pointing at a complex array of screens and control panels.

The operator, a young man with a hint of sweat on his brow, quickly explained the functions of the system. "This monitors the city's perimeter for any unauthorized entries or unusual activity. We've got sensors and cameras covering every inch, and the AI algorithms flag anything suspicious."

Matsu nodded, absorbing the information. He asked a few more questions, showing genuine interest, which seemed to put the operator at ease. As he moved from station to station, he continued to engage with the staff, asking about various systems—how they worked, what protocols were in place, and how they handled potential threats. The more he asked, the more relaxed the staff became, thinking perhaps this visit was more of a learning tour than an inspection.

But Matsu was no fool. As he absorbed their explanations, his keen eyes picked up on the subtle signs of sloppy work. A few monitors displayed errors that had been carelessly dismissed. Some logs showed gaps in the data, clear indications that certain incidents hadn't been properly recorded or investigated. He didn't call them out immediately but made a mental note of everything he observed.

After he had gathered enough information, Matsu turned to the staff, still smiling warmly. "You all have done a great job explaining things to me. I'm still new to all this, so I appreciate your patience in helping me understand how it all works."

The staff visibly relaxed, smiling back at him, relieved that the chancellor seemed so approachable. But then, Matsu's tone shifted ever so slightly, though still friendly and almost playful.

"However," he continued, his eyes sharp despite the smile on his face, "I've noticed a few mistakes here and there. Nothing too serious, but they'll need to be corrected." He spoke as if he were gently scolding a group of children, but the undertone was clear—he was fully aware of the attempts to cover up those mistakes, and he wasn't going to let them slide.

The mood in the room shifted instantly. The staff exchanged nervous glances once more, realizing that Matsu had been playing them for fools. They had underestimated him, thinking his friendliness equated to naivety. But now they understood that Matsu was sharp, observant, and fully in control of the situation.
