After the buzz and excitement of Unity Clash had faded, Matsu and his entire friend group gathered at his place to celebrate his return from Eclipsia. His home was alive with energy and laughter, the atmosphere light and warm as everyone exchanged stories, filling him in on everything that had happened while he was away. The living room was crowded, but it only added to the cozy, relaxed vibe. Blaze, Wally, Angelo, Orca, Terry, Jackie, Opal, and Marina had all come to make the night special, and Matsu could feel the love and joy radiating from them all.

Blaze was lounging on one of the couches, casually kicking her feet up as she grinned at Matsu. "You really missed out on some wild stuff while you were gone, you know?" she teased, her tone lighthearted. "Wally actually led a charge on that insane airsoft event I told you about!"

Wally blushed, adjusting his glasses as he sat next to Blaze. "It wasn't that big of a deal... just strategy, really."

Blaze playfully nudged him. "Oh, come on. You were practically a war hero."

Across the room, Angelo was sitting close to Orca, who was excitedly recounting a few of the battles she had participated in during the time Matsu had been away. Her hands moved animatedly, though she couldn't see the reactions around her. "You should've been there, Matsu! Citra and I took down a whole squad. It was awesome!"

Matsu listened with a smile, soaking it all in. He had missed these moments with his friends, the easy camaraderie and the laughter. Terry and Jackie were off to the side, quietly talking among themselves, while Opal and Marina were already planning their next music project, their heads close together as they brainstormed.

The full moon was up tonight, shining bright through the large windows. Matsu could feel its pull, deep and instinctual, as the same familiar urge stirred within him. As a firefly, he couldn't help it—every full moon brought with it the strong biological urge, a reminder of his race's unique nature. It was a sensation that grew stronger as the night progressed, and though Matsu did his best to push it aside, it was undeniable. His body hummed with an energy that wasn't just from the reunion with his friends.

His friends knew it too. They had been around him long enough to understand what the full moon meant for him. There was an unspoken awareness in the room, a quiet acknowledgment that, at any moment, Matsu might ask them to leave so he could "blow off some steam" with Calie and Marie. It wasn't awkward or uncomfortable—just a reality they had all come to accept.

Terry, ever the perceptive one, glanced over at Matsu and raised an eyebrow knowingly. "You doing alright, man? Looks like the moon's got you in its sights again," he said, his tone teasing but laced with concern.

Matsu smirked, leaning back in his chair. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just, you know... the usual."

Blaze chuckled, crossing her arms. "Don't worry, Matsu. We won't keep you too long if you've got, uh, other plans tonight."

Orca grinned mischievously. "Don't leave your girls waiting too long, boss."

Matsu couldn't help but laugh, shaking his head. "You guys are too much. But no, I'm good for now. I've missed hanging out with you all, and we've got plenty of time before I kick you out."

Opal, always the blunt one, smirked. "Just make sure you're not still glowing by the time we leave. We don't want to walk in on anything, you know?"

Matsu rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress the grin spreading across his face. The banter between his friends helped take the edge off, though the pull of the full moon still thrummed beneath the surface. Calie and Marie, who had stayed behind to help pack up after Unity Clash, hadn't arrived at the celebration yet. It was only a matter of time, though. They understood the full moon's effect on him better than anyone, and when they arrived, Matsu knew the temptation to "blow off some steam" would be even harder to ignore.
