Matsu arrived home with a deep sigh of relief, the weight of the day finally lifting off his shoulders. His sisters—Yumiko, Iyomei, and Kamenei—had been eagerly waiting for him as he picked them up from school, and now they all walked together into the house. The familiar comfort of home was a welcome contrast to the busy day he'd had.
Yumiko was the first to notice the exhaustion etched into Matsu's face. She exchanged a glance with Iyomei and Kamenei, her expression softening with concern. "Hey, Matsu, you look pretty wiped out. Do you want to take a break or maybe play some Happy Harvest with us?"
Kamenei, always quick with a witty remark, added with a teasing tone, "Or do you need a nap? Because we could always use a break from all the farming drama."
Matsu managed a tired smile, grateful for the thoughtfulness of his sisters. "Actually, playing Happy Harvest sounds perfect right now. I could use a bit of distraction."
Iyomei, her blind eyes alight with enthusiasm, nodded eagerly. "Great! I've been looking forward to seeing how things go with Lyra. I'll set up the game."
Kamenei and Yumiko led Matsu to the living room, where the cozy atmosphere and the soft glow of the TV made it a perfect spot to unwind. As Iyomei booted up the game, Matsu slumped onto the couch, his fatigue momentarily melting away at the thought of spending time with his sisters and diving back into the game they'd been enjoying together.
The screen lit up with the cheerful graphics of Happy Harvest, and the familiar theme music filled the room. Yumiko and Kamenei settled beside Matsu, their excitement palpable. Iyomei found her spot comfortably on the floor, close enough to keep track of the game's progress through sound.
"Alright, let's pick up where we left off," Matsu said, taking the controller with a grateful nod. "Lyra's questline was getting interesting, and I'm curious to see what happens next."
The sisters gathered around as Matsu navigated the game's interface, guiding his character through the various tasks and interactions required to progress Lyra's romance questline. Lyra, with her blend of Calie's cheerful optimism and Marie's dry humor, was a character that Matsu had grown quite fond of, and he appreciated how his sisters had been helping him navigate her quest.
Yumiko watched intently as Matsu's character engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Lyra, her curiosity piqued by the game's story. "I really like how Lyra's personality mixes both cheeriness and sarcasm. It's a nice balance."
Kamenei chuckled, her eyes following the screen with amusement. "Yeah, it's like she's got the best of both worlds. Just like us, really—cheerful and sarcastic, depending on the day."
Matsu laughed softly, his exhaustion fading as he immersed himself in the game. "It's been great having you all help out with this. I think Lyra's starting to like my character, and it's all thanks to you guys."
The game continued, each quest and dialogue choice sparking conversation and laughter among the siblings. As they worked through the tasks and made progress in Lyra's romance questline, the mood in the room was light and filled with camaraderie. The earlier stress and fatigue from Matsu's day seemed to dissolve in the warmth of their shared enjoyment.
Iyomei occasionally gave verbal feedback, helping guide Matsu through some tricky parts of the quest. "I think you should choose the option that lets you compliment Lyra's hard work. It sounds like it'll fit well with where her storyline is going."
Matsu nodded, taking her advice to heart as he selected the dialogue option. The game responded with a positive shift in Lyra's affection, and Matsu smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "Good call, Iyomei. Looks like that worked out well."
