Matsu stood alongside Sargon, waiting as the leaders of the Explorer's Guild approached. The five of them, each representing a different race, carried an air of authority and experience. The group included two women and three men, each exuding a unique presence reflective of their backgrounds.

As the group approached, Matsu noted the distinct features of each leader: the sharp and focused eyes of the Arkladian leader, the calm and calculated demeanor of the Desolan representative, the vibrant and lively aura of the Verdani leader, the quiet but intense presence of the Ravidin representative, and the commanding confidence of the Sumari leader. Despite their differences, they all shared a common goal: exploring the unknown and protecting their homeland's secrets.

Sargon, ever the composed and wise chancellor, greeted the leaders with a polite nod. Matsu mirrored his gesture, though he couldn't help but feel a bit curious about the dynamic between the guild members and the rest of Eclipsia. It was true that most of the guild's members weren't fireflies, a fact that had initially surprised Matsu when he first learned about it. But Sargon, with his deep understanding of Eclipsian society, had always seen it as a natural outcome, given the fireflies' tendency to pursue other careers more aligned with their innate abilities and cultural traditions.

As the group gathered around the table to begin their discussion, the Arkladian leader couldn't resist making a comment, "I never expected the Chancellor of Weapons and Defense to be such a young man—and one who's actually good at his job, no less."

Matsu's eyes narrowed slightly at the remark, but he kept his cool. "I get that a lot from people who need to learn a lesson or two," he replied, his tone measured but firm.

Sargon, ever the diplomat, placed a calming hand on Matsu's shoulder. "Let's focus on the matter at hand," he said smoothly, redirecting the conversation back to the purpose of their meeting. "We're here to discuss the Explorer's Guild's current work and the funding you require to continue your important efforts."

Matsu nodded, acknowledging Sargon's guidance. "I'm just stating facts," he said, his voice steady. "I know a lot more than I let on. But let's get down to business."

The Arkladian leader raised an eyebrow but didn't press the issue further. Instead, the group turned their attention to the table, where maps, documents, and reports were laid out, detailing the guild's recent activities and future plans.

The Desolan leader, a woman with sharp, intelligent eyes, began the presentation. "Our work in the Glowfly Forest has yielded significant findings, particularly in the areas of flora and fauna that are unique to the region. We've also identified several areas of interest where ancient structures are located, likely remnants of our ancestors' early settlements. These sites could hold invaluable information about our history and technological advancements."

The Verdani leader, a man with a bright and animated demeanor, chimed in, "We've also been monitoring the borders closely. There's been an increase in attempts to illegally enter the forest, likely due to rumors of valuable resources and artifacts. We've managed to deter most of these attempts, but our resources are stretched thin. We need additional funding to enhance our surveillance and security measures."

Matsu listened intently, absorbing the information. He could see the value in their work, both in terms of protecting Eclipsia's heritage and ensuring the safety of its borders. As Chancellor of Weapons and Defense, he knew the importance of maintaining a strong and vigilant presence, especially in areas as vital as the Glowfly Forest.

The Ravidin leader, a man with a quiet but intense presence, spoke next. "We've also begun exploring other regions of Eclipsia, particularly the abandoned structures from when our ancestors first settled the land. These sites are often overlooked, but they hold a wealth of knowledge that could benefit our people in numerous ways. However, these expeditions are not without risk. The terrain is treacherous, and we've encountered hostile wildlife and, on occasion, remnants of old security systems that have remained active."
