An hour had passed, and Matsu was still deeply engrossed in Happy Harvest. His sisters, Yumiko, Iyomei, and Khamenei, had shifted from merely watching to actively giving him advice on how to progress in the game. They pointed out different strategies, suggested various crops to plant, and most importantly, kept reminding him to check in on the NPC he was romancing.

"Don't forget to check on her again," Yumiko nudged, her eyes glued to the screen.

"Yeah," Khamenei added, "She might have something new for you to do."

Matsu took their advice and made his way back to the NPC's shop. As his character entered, he noticed that her usual teasing demeanor was still there, but there was something different—softer—in the way she spoke to him. She greeted him with her usual playful tone but then asked if he could help out around the shop. Intrigued, Matsu agreed to help, curious about what this "reward" might be.

The task was simple enough, just organizing some items in the shop and sweeping the floor. It wasn't anything too challenging, but the anticipation of what might come next kept Matsu focused. Once he finished, his character walked back to the NPC, who was waiting for him near the counter.

"Thanks for the help," she said, her voice carrying a hint of sincerity beneath the teasing. "You've really saved me some time."

Without any further warning, she leaned in again, giving his character a soft kiss on the cheek. This time, though, she didn't run away. Instead, she lingered for a moment, her face flushed as she looked at him. "I... appreciate it. Really."

Matsu's sisters let out a collective "aww" as they watched the scene unfold. The game then displayed a text box, notifying him that some items in her shop were now available at a discount, a little bonus for his efforts.

"Oh, nice!" Khamenei said, impressed. "That's a pretty sweet reward."

"Yeah," Iyomei added, her tone thoughtful. "She's definitely warming up to you. The discount is just a bonus."

Matsu smiled, feeling a small sense of accomplishment. "She's still got that edge to her, but she's not as guarded now," he noted. "It's just like breaking through someone's shell in real life."

Yumiko nodded, reaching over to grab a handful of snacks. "You've got to keep working at it, just like with anyone. But you're making progress."

Matsu's character lingered in the shop for a bit longer, and he couldn't help but feel a connection between the game and his real-life experiences. The way the NPC's walls were slowly coming down reminded him of how he and Marie had grown closer over the years, each step of the way revealing more of the person behind the initial bravado.

As he continued playing, his sisters offered more suggestions on how to use the new discounts, what crops to plant next, and how to further strengthen his relationship with the NPC. The game had become more than just a simple farming simulator; it was a shared experience, one that brought them all together, just like so many other moments in their lives.

As Matsu continued playing, he decided to check in on the NPC later in the day. When his character entered the shop, he was greeted by a sight that was quite different from what he was used to. The NPC, who had always been teasing and somewhat guarded, was now bustling around the shop with an energy he hadn't seen before.

"Hey there!" she called out excitedly as Matsu's character approached the counter. "Thanks to your help the other day, I've had so much more time to make new products, and it's really paying off! My shop's been busier than ever!"

Matsu's character watched as she moved around behind the counter, her previously reserved demeanor replaced by a lively enthusiasm. She seemed genuinely happy, her steps light and her tone cheerful. It was as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders, and she was thriving because of it.
