The pain had started to get worse, not too bad but bad enough to be annoying.
Thea fell asleep the night before and woke up at what she thought was late afternoon. If she was lucky, it was Thursday and not Friday.
She wanted to cry her eyes out. She wasn't going to make it.
If it was Thursday, the Winter Solstice's Meeting would start at midnight of that very same day. If it was Friday, she was too late...
Artemis would not be coming to her rescue. She would be either preparing for the meeting or already in it.
A roar was heard on the distance.
Thea looked up and searched for the source of the noise, but there was nothing there besides broken columns and stones.
Another roar was heard.
Steps followed it.
Thea turned to her left and saw three figures running her way.
They were too far for her to see who they were, but she managed to see one of them wearing an orange t-shirt.
They stopped near a big stone next to the path and looked around the hall in front of them. One of them raised their arm and pointed in her direction.
The others looked her way and started running towards her.
"Liz!" Percy's voice echoed through the hall.
Thea's blood went cold, her eyes showing fear.
"No! Run away! Save yourselves!" She screamed at them but they ignored her.
Percy and the others arrived to the hall and Thea could see now who he was with. Thalia and Zoë Nightshade, the last one looking a bit tired.
They crossed the hall and went to Thea's side. Percy and Thalia knelt to the ground next to her, while Zoë looked around the hall with a frown. Percy tugged at the chains in her ankles, trying to free her.
"Break it, Percy!" Thalia told him as she went to grab her spear.
"Aw, how touching" A deep voice said, drawing everyone's attention "Percy Jackson, I heard a lot about you"
Atlas was standing there in his common clothes. At his side was Luke, and Annabeth stood at his side. There was a grey strand on her hair, and she had her hands cuffed behind her back, a gag in her mouth and Luke was holding the point of his sword to her throat.
Thea's blood boiled with anger at the look of Annabeth. She wanted to let go of the sky and grab her sword so she could show Luke how she felt about him.
But her anger cooled off very quickly once she saw what was behind them. Her face went pale at the view of half a dozen dracaenaes. The monsters weren't what scared her, but rather what they were carrying. In their arms, there was a big golden sarcophagus, with drawings on the sides.
The Golden Sarcophagus of Kronos.
Inside it, rested the pieces of her father's body, the father who haunted her in her dreams if she wasn't in Vaoç, the father who cursed her to help him, the father who put her under a sleeping spell for eons, the father who ate her siblings, the father who made her mother cry for her children, the father who was dividing her demigods and ruining their lives. And she was in the same room as him.
Thea wanted to run, to hide. She wanted to get as far as possible from that fucking box. She felt as if her lungs were running out of air.
"Luke" Thalia snarled "Let her go"
