"I can't believe you will not be with us for Christmas.". Felix pouted. We were at the dorm, preparing some cookies and gingerbread. I handed him the butter and poked his cheek. "I know Lix... But I haven't seen my family in years. You know what it feels like.". He gave me a sad smile. "Of course, I know it all too well... And I'm happy for you ! It's just that I was excited to spend Christmas night with you, and I will miss you.". He looked at me with his big doe eyes, and my heart melted. I dropped everything and hugged him tight. "Oh baby, I am gonna miss you too. I promise you that when I come back, we will recreate a Christmas night, just you and me. Okay ?". The idea cheered him up. "Great mate ! I'm in !". We went back to our baking, and almost an hour later, around a hundred cookies were made. I was sitting on the kitchen counter, watching the last batch of cookies in the oven. I absolutely loved Christmas. The dorm smelled of hot pastries mixed with the scent of pine trees (I might have put 2 or 3 Yankee candles in the dorm).
I spent the night at the dorm, enjoying my last night with the boys who were reunited for the occasion. We watched some romantic movies with a Christmas theme. You know, those super cliché movies that everyone secretly loves. In the middle of the second movie, I distractedly looked outside and gasped. "SNOW !!!!!!". I jumped excitedly and ran towards the windows, my nose pressed against the cold glass. The boys all exchanged confused looks. For them, seeing snow wasn't a big deal, but for a French girl like me, snow wasn't something I used to see often. Minho paused the movie, and all looked at me fondly as I was bouncing and showing them the snow. Hyunjin stood up and joined me, putting his arms around my shoulders. I looked at him, eyes shining with excitement. He poked my cheek : "Stop being this cute, you look like a kid.". Without me noticing, Felix stood up and put on his coat, his scarf, and his gloves. He took mine and called out to me : "Come on Soo, let's go outside !". I almost ran to him and snatched my stuff from his hands, making everyone laugh.
A few minutes later, we were all outside. The boys were already playing with the snow, attempting to make a snowman as tall as Hyunjin. Speaking of the devil, he was running away from Changbin, who kept asking for a dance under the snow. I drew away from them to enjoy the quietness of the night. I threw my head in the back, eyes closed so that the snow could fall on my face. I stuck my tongue out, trying to catch some snowflakes.
"You're gonna catch a cold princess.". The corner of my lips turned uncontrollably up. His habit of calling me princess was giving me butterflies every time. I kept my eyes closed as I shot back : "You better watch your kids and let me enjoy.". I heard his chuckle coming closer and opened my eyes. He was really cute, with his chocolate orbs and his rosy nose. He smiled fondly and tucked a beanie on my head. "I prefer watching you.". I gave him a genuine smile as he raised his eyes to observe the snow. "I was like you when I first came to Seoul. Snow wasn't something we were used to in Australia. And I'm still amazed each time I see a snowflake.". For a split moment, Chan went back to 2011. I could see on his face the nostalgia and all the feelings he kept buried. He closed his eyes and let the snow fall on his beautiful face, just like me a few minutes ago. I grinned cheekily : "You're gonna catch a cold princess.". Chan opened an eye, amused by my mimic. But karma didn't wait to hit. The cold indeed caught me, and I shivered, which didn't go unnoticed by Chan. He opened his jacket and opened his arms. "Come here, dummy.". I frowned : "Nah, I'm okay.". He rolled his eyes and pulled me by my arm. "Stupid ego.". With his strength, I quickly was wrapped in his arms. We were cuddled up, and the warmth of his body against mine combined with his jacket was so comfortable. I sighed in satisfaction and leaned in his embrace, putting my face against his chest.
We stood like that, silently watching the snowfall. Until I received a snowball on the back. I turned around to see Seungmin, another one in the hand, ready to shoot. I shot him a death glare. "Puppy, don't you dare.". He grinned evilly. "Since I love you, I'll be kind. I'll give you ten seconds to run.".
And this was the beginning of a huge snowball war between all of us. Alliances and betrayals reigned over. The night was beautiful. I couldn't have dreamt of a better snow night.
