Seungmin's POV
"You know how I love our comfort time together ?". Sooki took a step back to admire our work. Since we were allowed to do whatever we wanted for the rest of the day, we decided to have a Monkey x Puppy time. We took all the things we could (sheets, towels, even clothes) to build a hut. We gathered all our pillows to make a comfortable floor and lay down with our books. Sooki was lying with her head on my belly, and we were peacefully reading when I heard my phone ringing. I looked at who was texting me and saw Han's text :
Han-a Montana
Han-a Montana : EMERGENCY
Han-a Montana : THIS IS NOT A TEST
Han-a Montana : CHAN KNOWS SOOKI IS SINGLE
Han-a Montana : HE'S ON HIS WAY TO YOU GUYS RN
Me : Fuck.
Me : Ok. I got this.
I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. "What's wrong ?" Sooki asked, still focused on her book. I patted her head and stood up. "Nothing important, I.N needs me for something. I'll be back soon.". I hated lying to her, but it was for the better. I needed to make sure of something first. On my way to the door, I heard a knock. Fuck, he's already here. I hoped Sooki was too immersed in her book to hear it. I opened the door, slightly pushing Chan to make my way out of the room, and closed the door behind me. Chan looked over my shoulder before looking at me. He was breathing heavily, as if he had run a marathon. "Chan, what are you doing here ?". "I need to talk to Sooki alone Seung.".
He tried to pass me but I took a step on the side to block him access to the door. Chan gave me a confused look. I kept my questioning: "To say what exactly ?". He sighed : "Listen, I know she's not with Dk anymore. And no one wants to tell me why they ended things. So unless you want to confirm that I was the reason behind it, let me talk to her.". Chan moved me to the side to make his way, and I let him. But I couldn't keep my mouth shut : "What if you're right ?.".
My words stopped him immediately. He slowly turned to face me, visibly shocked. "... What ?". I shrugged, my hands in my pockets : "What if your theory is right ? What if they broke up because, despite everything she has gone through, she still has feelings for you ? What are you gonna tell her ?". Chan looked into my eyes, probably trying to sort out if I was lying or not. I pressured him : "What are you going to tell her Hyung ?". He stammered : "I... I don't know, I'll figure it out once I'll see her.".
His words settled my mind. I rubbed my face, trying to hold my annoyance under control. "See, this is exactly why I will not let you talk to her.". Chan glared at me, with a mix of annoyance, confusion, yet will to defy me. I looked away before speaking. Lecturing my own leader wasn't something I was used to, and I wasn't brave enough to do it while looking at him. But the aim behind it gave me strength. I needed to do it for her, I needed to protect her. "I promised myself not to get involved in the relationship between you two. And I hate to break my own promise. But I can't stand it anymore. I've been there since the beginning, I saw it all : your innocent flirt, the kiss, your discussion about what it meant, the Cold War, the reconciliation, all your conversations about your hidden feelings, the return of the Cold War when she was with Dk, then again the making-up and finally her break-up. I've been there through all of this, I've seen her struggling to admit her own feelings, and most of the time I was standing hopelessly next to her while she was crying. She has been suffering a lot Hyung, and I can't bear to see her in that state. And now you want to talk to her without having a tiny idea of what you're going to say ? Do you at least know what you want ?".
I waited for an answer, I hoped he would tell me what I wanted to hear. But he remained silent. I sighed, looked away and spoke again : "The girl behind that door is one of the most important people in my life. And I will do everything in my power to prevent her from suffering. I'm tired of seeing you two going back and forth and hurting each other. What I'm trying to say is : take your time to figure out what you want. And by that, I don't mean just figure out your feelings. You have to understand what it means to be with her. If you want to be with her, be prepared to fight for her. Fight against the fans, fight against the company, fight against everything that can pull you apart. If you tell me that you're ready for this, then I will support you both no matter what. And if this is too much, which I can totally understand, put a final point to all those unspoken topics with her.".
I took a deep breath, and faced him : "Take your time. Think about it, and come to me once your wills are clear. Until then, I will not let you see her alone. I will never leave her side. And trust me, I learned how to be clingy from y'all.". I passed him without another word and went back to the room.
I leaned against the door and took a few seconds to realize what I just did. Did I stand up against my hyung and my leader ? Did I just lecture the person I respect and admire the most out of all the people I know ? "Seung ? You're back ?". Sooki's voice got me out of my thoughts. I composed myself and went to our hut. She greeted me with a big smile on her face : "I ordered food and gave Han's room.". I looked at her a bit confused : "Why did you give his room number ?". "That way we won't have to go to the door to receive the order duh ! Han will bring it to us.". She winked at me and I laughed while going back next to her. "Such a smart monkey.". She hit me playfully, and then remembered : "By the way, did it go well with I.N ?". I forced a smile : "I told him what he had to do, now the cards are in his hands.".
