Chapter 7

The exhausting first week of college came to an end. I never expected it to be this hectic but I figured quickly I was wrong. Although, it was easy to get through the lectures as I had such entertaining friends beside me, commenting hilarious things about the cranky professors. I would have been dead by now if it wasn't for them.

On Saturday, I slept till noon, enjoying every bit of rest I could. Then, Ava and I along with some other dorm mates went for lunch to a local restaurant. When we were back, we lazed around in one of the girls' room on our floor.

I was sitting on the floor going through facebook while Ava and one other girl were talking sitting on the bed. I scrolled down a picture of a white beach on my wall. An idea popped into my mind and I snapped my head towards Ava, "Hey, you know what? We've been in Los Angeles for a week now and we haven't even checked out a beach yet."

A bright smile came upon her face. "Oh my god. Yes, we're so stupid. Let's go to the beach tomorrow!"

I frowned, "Why not today?"

"We've to go to that frat party remember?"

Kelly, the other girl on the bed, the owner of this room, chirped up, "Oh, you guys are invited too?"

Something about her tone offended Ava and I. Like Kelly was questioning our 'coolness quotient'. But we both masked it with unsure smiles. "Yeah. You're invited too?!" Ava said replicating her surprised tone.

"Of course! So, you're coming right? It's gonna be so much fun... Chris Hayes is going to be there! He's the president of that fraternity!" Kelly almost jumped from her bed onto the floor and I escaped several minor head injuries from her attack.

"Oh my god! Chris Hayes?! I'm so going to that party now." Ava's mouth hung in astonishment.

"Wait, who's he again?" I asked.

"You don't know him? Swimmer, tall, handsome, sexy abs, body of a greek god?" Kelly asked not believing my question.

After Kelly's vivid and quite graphic description, I knew for sure who they were talking about. I had seen this hot guy around campus quite often, only I didn't know his name. But boy, was he carved by beautiful hands. I mean, every corner of his body was perfect. I was no different than other girls, I would shamelessly check him out when he walked in front of me.

I heard from the girls he was a junior and he had brought laurels to the university in the field of swimming. "Even, I can't deny that he's damn hot." I said, imagining his beautiful face.

"So, it's decided then. We're going to the party." Ava looked at me seriously.

I flicked my eyes to the pale walls of the dorm avoiding her intense eyes. "No, I don't think I should." I thought about my lack of social connections to attend such a high profile party. Alexander was a pledge of that fraternity but we weren't that great friends. Besides, late night is the only time when I can freely talk to Cameron after the end of our long tiring day. And frankly, I wouldn't miss the happiness talking to him gave me, for a million such hot guys.

"Oh come on! Please, it would be fun!"

"No."

"What is your problem anyway?" Kelly asked her hands resting on her hips.

I was about to make a random excuse but Ava spoke for me. "I know what it is…" She smirked at me. "She has to have phone sex with her boyfriend."

"What the fuck Ava!" I tried to sound furious but I laughed on her face.

She continued mocking me, "It's okay, Al. We understand he's important to satisfy your needs. So, we allow you to bail on us this time."
