Chapter 16
Thanksgiving break passes by in a blur. I didn't even have time to process anything as I hurried back to college to study for my upcoming exams. I spent the whole week studying and talking to Cameron during intervals. He was done with exams while I still had four more days of torture left.
He had decided to leave for his cousin's wedding on the same day his exams were over. I accompany him to the airport with emotions raging within me. He was already done with the first semester and heading home while I still have to stay back. And far away from him.
We'll be separated for four days after spending almost four months together. Though I know it's only four days but I resent it each time we have to stay away from each other.
The last announcement for passengers is made, making me travel back to the present. He's standing beside me, holding his luggage in one of his hands and me in the other. I realize with gloom that my cold hands would miss his warm ones.
"Why are you always so cold?" He tends to ask that a lot. He begins moving his thumb in circles over my hand.
"I don't know... " My voice is empty and lifeless exactly what I'm feeling inside.
He removes his hand from the luggage and turns to hold me by my shoulders. "Ally," He calls out with a sigh. "Don't look so sad. We're going to meet in four days. And finally you're gonna meet my parents."
"I'm gonna miss you." I know I won't hear much from him since he would be busy with the preparations of the wedding.
"Me too." He ends it with the sincerest kiss. "It's time to go." He says and I don't have the strength to reply so I nod in agreement. "Take care. And I'll be waiting for you on 17th."
He kisses my forehead and I hear his trolley moving away from me. So, I finally look up but he's already very far away from me. I wave him goodbye and he waves back with the same sad smile.
After he's out of sight, I take a huge breath and tread back to the taxi. Now, I had to push these depressing thoughts away and focus on my exams.

In the next four days, I only hear once from Cameron. He was busy with the wedding and I was busy with exams. Today was my last exam and I'm excited to see my love after an excruciating four long days.
Naturally, I'm lost in a daze of meeting him when I come out of the exam hall. "Hey, Ally!" I hear Ava calling me from behind.
I turn around to meet her big elated eyes. "Hey," I say.
"Oh my god. We're finally done with hell. Happy Holidays!"
"I know! Happy Holidays! I was dying for a long break."
She relaxes a bit, her tone turning serious. "Listen, there's a party tonight at the dorm to celebrate the ending of this semester. It's gonna be loads of fun. What do you say?"
"I say, Hell yeah!" I simply want to enjoy and chill out after the mental stress of exams was over. Besides, my flight is tomorrow morning which implies I'm completely ready to have a blast tonight.

"Oooh... I want the time of my lives!" I shout in the loudest voice possible.
We're at this moment in the party when every single person is wasted,or high on drugs or both and literally everyone is acting crazy. Like I'm dancing on a table which had been converted into a bar.
It feels like freedom when I'm moving my hair to the beats of the overplayed song. I know I'm drunk and it feels like I'm floating in the air. There is a bottle of something I had been drinking, in my hand while I swirl the liquid in it and throw it at the crowd below.
