Chapter 19
"Ugh..." An exhausted groan escaped my lips as I shuffled and turned my face to the other side. I could feel the traces of drool on the corner of my lips. I shut my mouth and slowly opened my eyes.
Generally, there's no other soul except my lonely one beside me on the bed. So, you can understand the shock that seized me when I saw Cameron sleeping naked beside me. His face was smashed on the pillow as he slept peacefully on his chest.
Then it all hit me harder than I had ever imagined. I had sex with Cameron last night.
Holy mother of god. I had slept with him but why the hell I cannot recall any details of how it actually went down. There were only faint memories of his passionate and loving kisses everywhere. Everything was a big blur in my mind.
This is awful. I thought. He was definitely going to freak out when he wakes up with absolutely no memory of our 'love making' as he calls it.
I sat up on the bed covering my chest with the white sheets. I sighed and glanced down at him. I felt like I shattered his expectations. At the same time, a bigger part of me was delighted to know that we had finally done it.
A smile spread on my face. "Cameron," I softly called, touching his bare shoulder. "Wake up."
He shuffled and moaned gradually turning on his back. He opened his eyes, squinting at the bright light peeping from the window. Then, his eyes travelled to me. His expressions changed from can-I-sleep-for-five-minutes-more to why-are-you-in-my-bed real quick.
His face lost all color as he looked down on the sheets covering his body and me. I said with a straight face, "Relax. Relax. Okay? It's no big deal."
"What-" He hissed. A loud knock on the door startled us.
"Cameron? Open up!" His mom's voice yelled from the door.
Cameron was too shocked to react. "Quick, if she's us like this. She'll kill us." I said to a very lost looking Cameron.
"Huh?"
"I said, put on some pants. Your mom's at the door!" I rushed away picking my clothes from the floor. I jumped into the bathroom.
"Oh!" I heard him finally realize that our lives were in danger.
I didn't lock the bathroom door, I only stood there carefully listening. The door opens and Cameron says 'Good morning mom!' in a very cheerful voice. His strategy when he's really nervous.
'What took you so long?'
'Uh, nothing. I was just in the bathroom. Did you want anything?'
'No, I just came to wake you. It's time to go home.'
'Okay. I'll see you in downstairs in half an hour.'
'Good.' There was a long pause before she says in her stern Hitler voice, 'Where's your girlfriend?'
'Oh... She went home last night.'
'Hmm... So, I'll see you down at the lobby then in half an hour.'
'Yes, mom.' Then there was the click of the door being closed. I jumped out of the bathroom fully dressed and saw him leaning on the door.
He exhaled a breath of relief. "That was close."
"I know, right." I said, walking close to him.
"Shit, I don't remember what the hell we did last night." He said. His expressions were of agony.
