Chapter 33
I didn't know what turn of events caused the sudden, but a very welcoming change in Cameron, but he had become almost like I had met him in high school. Cheerful, loving, sweet, caring, romantic and most importantly a positive person.
After that surprise Valentine's date, he would randomly text me audio or video messages in which he would record himself singing. He once sent me the song that we had danced to on Prom- 'Thinking out loud', and his voice made me tear up. We didn't meet that much due to our busy schedules but we were always checking upon each other through any kind of media, phone or internet.
He paid surprise visits to me at the restaurants and just watched me shuffle in between tables. I could only talk to him as a customer or when there was no other customer, my boss was strict with the 'No boyfriend/girlfriend at work' rule. But, he waited patiently as I passed by him with only a sympathetic smile without any talking.
So, as a sincere gesture to acknowledge his efforts, I also made surprise visits to his college and apartment frequently. It was almost as if we were in a competition to out do each other with the number of surprises.
I figured either he was too happy that I had acknowledged him to my mother or Ava's plan had worked. She had advised me to make him realize that he was taking me for granted. I didn't know how exactly I did that but I guessed that the one week break served him well.
But not all my relationships were going well. After telling my mother the news about Cameron, she was devastated. She called me and repeated a number of times that she was so disappointed in me and I had been her only hope. She warned me multiple times and when I didn't pay any heed to her words, she said she would deal with me when I get back home for summer.
So, I decided to enjoy the happy days left in LA because I knew when I will get back home, I'd be eaten alive by my parents.

With my relationship being all sunshine and rainbows with Cameron, I started paying attention to improving other aspects of my life. I would spend more time studying to be precise.
I had been a very good student my whole life but college knocked me off the record a bit. My grades the previous semester were satisfactory but not at par to my previous records. I had become one of the above average students.
As I started working harder each week, the grades on my assignments and projects improved, making me more visible on the radar of other students and teachers. I was happy by the sudden attention I was getting from the geniuses and the average ones alike.
It was in the middle of March, I was leaving my Economics class when a girl approached me. I only knew her as the ultra smart girl of the class who shoots her hand up the first.
She tapped on my shoulder while I was rummaging through my bag. I turned around to look at her. She had striking blue eyes, wavy hair and wore a yellow ruffled blouse. With her a fashionable style, no one could guess she was actually a geek. That was the thing in college, here the coolest looking kids were actually smart. "Hey, you're Ally, right? I'm Taylor." She smiled but it didn't look very honest.
"Yeah, I know your name." I smiled back.
"Well, I just wanted to ask you... How did you do on Mrs. Weather's surprise test?"
I blinked twice unable to comprehend the source of this question. No body here had asked my grades except my friends . "Well... I got an A plus." I uttered slowly.
Her fake smile didn't falter. "Me too! Congratulations!"
"Thanks. Same to you." She gave me a nod before sauntering off from wherever she came from.
