Chapter 32
We drove to Cameron's apartment after he had successfully seduced me to spend the night with him. I called Ava and informed about the change of plans. Surprisingly, she didn't yell at me that much, instead she was elated that he was being so romantic.
"Use protection, kids." She had advised me before we hung up. I prayed that everything would go as she hoped and finally we'd do it without being completely wasted like the last time.
Everything was going in the right direction. He had given me these lustful glances every now and then as he drove. Sometimes he's hand would randomly reach out to hold mine at signals. So far so good.
We plodded into his apartment with our fingers interwoven. I roamed my eyes around his familiar apartment that I'd not been in weeks. I was rubbing my other palm nervously as we quietly stood there with our shoulders touching. The air around us was filled with so much sexual tension maybe because we had been apart for so long. Every second it was elevating and I could sense that we were both clueless about the first step.
I sighed heavily but it didn't relieve any tension from my body. Thankfully, he broke the ice and asked, "Do you want some wine?"
"Sure." I said quickly, because we would at least be doing something rather than standing in that awkward silence.
He released our grip and walked to the kitchen. I took my usual spot on his couch and waited. I fidgeted with my hair, clothes and tried to figure out my seating position. I tried putting my legs on the coffee table to look cool, crossing them one over the other, or sitting Indian style on the couch.
When he arrived with two glasses of red wine and a nervous smile, I was sitting with my legs dangling in mid air. I settled with keeping them close together as he sat beside me, not maintaining much space between us.
I took a big gulp of the wine and I hated it. But, damn it, I needed alcohol to get through without making a fool of myself. He was taking small sips which screamed of sophistication.
He noticed me and raised his eyebrows. "Wow, you were really thirsty huh?"
I had finished my glass already. "Can I have some more please?" I asked, patiently waiting for him to take my glass and refill it.
"No." He declined just like that. "I know what you're trying to do." He took a sip, his known eyes never breaking away from me. "You're nervous and you need wine to help you with that."
I was flustered by his words. So I did the only thing I do, I denied it. "I'm not nervous!"
"Come on, you're face is red..." He added with a chuckle.
I scoffed, but he was right. My cheeks felt like they were burning.
Suddenly he's eyes turned gentle towards me and he leaned in slightly. "We don't have to do it if you don't want to." He said in a lower voice.
"No! I want to!" I said. "It's just that I'm nervous because I haven't done it so often."
"Really?" The shock was evident in his expressions.
"Yeah. Only with you that night in the hotel." I admitted shamefully. I was embarrassed because I was naive when it came to sex since I was dating the high school Casanova who had probably had several flings.
"Oh my god! I was your first!" His eyes widened in utter surprise.
"Yeah." I muttered, my head hung low.
"You never told me." He stated, his voice lacking any emotion as he trued to recover from my revelation.
"Well, you never asked."
