36. A trip to the bar

"Phaa! That hits the spot!" Himeko said as she placed the empty glass on the table.

"Just be sure to be mindful. This is your 20th cup." Zero said as he watched her.

After she had managed to convince him to go with her she brought him to a bar in the city where she started to drink. Since he is a robot he didn't ask for anything and just sat with her as he watched her drink, while he also had to make sure that no man would take advantage of her.

He could already see her being intoxicated due to the large amount of alcohol she has consumed and the blush on her face is a downright reveal of her drunken state. She is also swaying a bit as she sat there and then she leaned on him as she looked at him with a smile.

"Don't you want to do anything?" Himeko asked him as she smiled at him.

"No. I am just here to keep an eye on you." Zero said as he chuckled at her.

"Aww. So you're my bodyguard~?" Himeko asked a bit slurred and with a blush.

"If that's what you want." Zero said with a smile at her.

Himeko smiled brightly when she heard that before she drank a bit more glasses before she decided to stop. During the time that they spent in the bar, she talked about her time in Fir Moth and the difficulties of the mission and also about Fu Hua as well.

"I mean, I know that it is a serious matter but she can't always be so uptight like that. It will wear her down you know." Himeko said to him as she leaned on him.

"Yes but unless she herself thinks that she won't change how she acts." Zero said to her as he pat her back.

"She is a hard worker and she always follows my orders. I just wish she would obey my order of taking it easy." Himeko said as she pouted and leaned on his as she draped her body on him.

Zero adjusted himself so that she leaned on his body and her head is on his right shoulder as she hugged his right arm and put them in between her breasts as she looked at him with a lascivious look which caused his eyes to widen in surprise.

If he had heart he was sure that it would be beating very quickly from the sight in front of him and the fact that she is pressing herself on him and he can see and feel his arm in between her breasts.

'Shit. Those are soft.' Zero thought to himself as he looked at her and tried to keep his gaze neutral.

Though his nervousness can be slightly seen but Himeko was too drunk to fully notice it as she hummed and leaned on him.

"I think that's enough drinking for today." Zero said to her calmly.

"Heh? But I'm do done~." Himeko said with a pout when she heard that.

'God, how can she be sexy and cute at the same time.' Zero thought to himself as he calmed himself down and smiled at her.

"Come on. Let's go back." Zero said to her as he slowly pulled her up.

"Ugh~. Fine~." Himeko whined as she let him pull her up.

Then he took the bill and paid the money before he walked out of the bar with Himeko draped on his right side as he smiled at the woman. He looked at the car in which they had both come in and he carefully placed her in the passenger seat and fastened her seat belt before he went to the driver's seat and got ready.

"I want to drive." Himeko said as she looked at him.

"No. You are unfit for using the car right now. I'll drive." Zero said to her as he started the car.

"Meanie." Himeko said with a pout before she reclined on her seat.

He just smiled at her before he drove the car in a moderate speed as they watched the city life as they went back. Himeko watched the scenery silently as she saw the people as a small smile graces her face as she watches them.

"Hey, Zero." Himeko called out as she looked at him.

"Yes?" Zero asked as he looked at her flushed face, but he could see some seriousness in her eyes.

"Will you be there for me?" Himeko asked him with a bit of seriousness.

"Why the sudden question?" Zero asked her a bit surprised.

"Well, the fight with the Honkai is getting more dangerous. They are getting stronger and I don't know if I will be able to survive the next coming battles." Himeko said as she looked at him.

"That is true. But it is my duty to protect humanity and I will also protect you." Zero said to her as he kept his eyes on the road.

"I see." Himeko said as she looked at him.

Zero turned to look at her as he slowed the car and parked it as she glanced around in surprise as he turned to look at her.

"Don't misunderstand. It is my duty to protect humanity, but in the short time since I had been activated, I have come to treasure you, Ciel and my other companions." Zero said to her seriously as her eyes widened.

"Zero." Himeko said as her eyes widened at his words.

"So I will say this Himeko. If you are ever in danger then I will come to help you. If you are in trouble then you will just have to call me and I will do everything in my power to come and help you." Zero said to her seriously before he slightly smiled at her.

Himeko's eyes widened when she heard that as she looked at him. She has always had a soft spot for the robot, due to how he acts and how friendly he is despite his usual stoic face. Added to the fact that he has been helping them fight against the Honkai and how he talks with her, she has felt quite close to him.

And right now he looks very beautiful in her eyes as the lights of the night city was illuminating him from behind and around him and coupled with the soft smile on his face she was mesmerized by the sight in front of her.

She didn't know why she did it. But the next moment she leaned forward towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him on his lips as she closed her eyes.

Zero's own eyes widened when he felt her lips on his own. A thing with his project singularity was giving him the same sensations as a human so he can vividly feel her soft and supple lips on his own as he looked at the beautiful woman kissing him.

His mind went a mile a second as he realised what was happening before he closed his eyes and tenderly wrapped his arms around the crimson haired woman and stayed there as he was kissed by her.

'This is nice.' Zero thought to himself as he stayed like that.

'This feels right.' Himeko thought to herself as she continues the kiss.

Right. It has been almost a year since I updated this one. I have no excuse, I lost track of time for the lack of better word, since even I was shocked when I learned that I had posted the previous chapter in 2023.

I was too engrossed in my newer books and have in retrospect, neglected other books of mine which I am at fault. So I am sorry for the long wait and I will try to keep up with all the books I have. Thank you for your support.
