Felix's words hung in the air as everyone turned to look at him, anticipation thick in the room.
He felt the weight of their gazes, the mixture of hope and uncertainty mirrored in each of their eyes. Taking a deep breath, Felix tried to calm the nerves swirling in his stomach.
“I want... I want to give this a chance,” he began slowly, watching the cautious hope bloom on their faces. “But... I need to take things slow. I’ve never been in a relationship like this before or really any kind of relationship, and it’s a lot to take in.”
Chan nodded, his expression understanding, while Seungmin and Hyunjin exchanged a glance that Felix couldn’t quite decipher.
"We completely understand, Lix,” Minho said softly, gently rubbing soft circles on the omega's thigh, his voice steady and reassuring.
“We don’t want to rush you into anything you’re not ready for.” Changbin assured as well.
Felix felt a small wave of relief at Chan’s words. “I think it would be best if we went on a few dates, one-on-one, so I can get to know each of you better, in the romantic aspect I mean. I-I just want to take the time to really understand what this relationship could be, and what it means for all of us.”
Jeongin nodded vigorously, his face flushed but determined. “That sounds fair. We want you to feel comfortable with us, Felix hyung. We’ll take as much time as you need.”
Jisung, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, finally spoke up, his voice soft. “We want you to be happy, Lixie. Whatever it takes for you to feel good about this, we’ll do it.”
Felix smiled at the nickname, the warmth of Jisung’s words settling into his chest. “Thank you,” he said, his voice quiet but sincere. “I also want to ask about how this all started between you guys, we don't have to talk about it today but... it’s important for me to understand your history together.”
There was a pause as the alphas and omegas exchanged glances. It was Changbin who finally broke the silence, leaning forward slightly as he spoke.
“We’d be happy to share that with you. We’ve been through a lot together, and it’s only fair that you know everything.”
Felix nodded, feeling a mixture of anticipation and anxiety. This was the first step in something new and potentially life-changing.
He knew it wouldn’t be easy, but the sincerity in their eyes made him feel like he wasn’t alone in this.
“So, where do we start?” he asked, a hint of nervous laughter in his voice.
Chan chuckled softly, the sound warm and comforting. “How about we start with how we all met at first? It’s a long story, but we’ve got all night.”
Felix settled into the couch, feeling the tension in his shoulders begin to ease as they started to recount their shared history.
As he listened to their story unfold, he couldn’t help but feel a small spark of hope flicker to life in his chest.
This wasn’t going to be easy, but with time, patience, and understanding, maybe--just maybe--it could be something beautiful.
